Get BBM for iphone and Android now

This is the news you’ve been waiting for! I am thrilled to tell you that we are about to officially resume our rollout of BBM for Android and iPhone customers around the globe! In the next few hours, people will start seeing BBM in Google Play, the App Store and in select Samsung App Stores – where it will be free to download.

how to download :

  1. Download BBM – the easiest way is to visit BBM.com from your Android or iPhone browser*
  2. Once you install the app, open it, and enter your email address to hold your spot in line
  3. We will email you as soon as you reach the front of the line and can start using BBM

To ensure that its servers can handle the influx of new users, BlackBerry has created a wait list for those interested in signing up for a BBM account. Individuals who registered on BlackBerry’s Web site earlier this month won’t be required to wait in line and can begin using the app immediately.

fortunately, CNET writers reported that The company’s wait list can actually be bypassed after downloading the app on either your Android or iOS device. Open the app, enter your e-mail address, click Next, and then force-close it.

This can be done on iOS by double-clicking the home button and swiping the app away. On Android, enter the multitasking menu and swipe the app away, or go to Settings, Apps, BBM, and click Force Close. After relaunching the app you should have the power to create an account, which will assign you a unique PIN, and to begin inviting friends.

It should be noted that while this method worked for some CNET writers, BlackBerry could fix the workaround at any time.

Blackbbery A.K.A RIM sold!!!!

According to a report from Mashable, BlackBerry was purchased by a financial holdings firm for $4.7 billion. The deal was announced on Monday by both the struggling mobile company and the Toronto-based Fairfax Financial Holdings.

BlackBerry was worth over $100 billion dollars back in 2007. BlackBerry reportedly lost about $1 billion in the second quarter of 2013 and as cutting 4,500 jobs — about 35% of its workforce. The holdings group acquired BlackBerry for only $9 per share.

BBM for Android and iOS are on hold (again)

BlackBerry has finally given a statement on the status of the BBM rollout for users on Android and iOS, and it looks like things are on hold for the time being. BlackBerry is saying the leaked versions people were using have caused “issues” and that they are hard at work to get things back on track.

Prior to launching BBM for Android, an unreleased version of the BBM for Android app was posted online. The interest and enthusiasm we have seen already – more than 1.1 million active users in the first 8 hours without even launching the official Android app – is incredible. Consequently, this unreleased version caused issues, which we have attempted to address throughout the day.

Our teams continue to work around the clock to bring BBM to Android and iPhone, but only when it’s ready and we know it will live up to your expectations of BBM. We are pausing the global roll-out of BBM for Android and iPhone. Customers who have already downloaded BBM for iPhone will be able to continue to use BBM. The unreleased Android app will be disabled, and customers who downloaded it should visit www.BBM.com to register for updates on official BBM for Android availability.

As soon as we are able, we will begin a staggered country roll-out of BBM for Android and continue the roll-out of BBM for iPhone. Please follow @BBM on Twitter for the latest updates and go to www.BBM.com to sign-up for updates about BBM for Android and iPhone. These issues have not impacted BBM service for BlackBerry.

ouchh…… what issues can a leaked app cause?

should i get Windows Phone ?

Windows Phones come in a variety of screen sizes and price points, and all run Microsoft’s elegant Metro (sticking with it!) interface and experience. The biggest reason to go with Windows Phone – literally – is the amazing camera available on the Lumia 1020. It’s almost like they grafted a dedicated point-and-shoot onto the body of a phone. It’s also got a big screen and some of the best build quality in the business.

In my eyes, this Windows Phone is less of a smartphone and more of a dumbphone that can surf the web, send emails, and navigate you around town, without all the apps and other stuff you’ve come to expect. For some people, that’s fine—in fact, it’s exactly what they need. I’d recommend this to my less tech-obsessed friends that aren’t locked into certain apps, or just want a phone that works. If you want something simple and distraction-free, Windows Phone has potential, but if you like Android and iOS, it’s going to be difficult to switch. Not impossible by any means, but difficult.

Blackberry, android or iPhone??

all three are going to survive, but not necessarily in that order. But from a purely analyst’s perspective here are some general thoughts:

BlackBerry will remain an enterprise favorite and remain popular in corporate-liable situations (where the company provides handset to users). The reliability, physical keyboard (which many still prefer) of the mainstream BlackBerry products, and the server-side capabilities will remain features of this line for some time, and we assume that the folks at Research in Motion will continue to upgrade their offerings. Many consumers like the BlackBerry as well, even if the products do lack the flash (pun intended in Apple’s case!) and coolness of the competition.

Apple’s iPhone product line redefined the handset, bringing the caché of the Mac to this class of products. Apple has also become increasingly sensitive to the needs of enterprise users, no mean feat for a product that began life as essentially the marriage of an iPod and a cell phone. But even as it promises improved reliability and freedom from viruses and such, the closed-system nature of the iPhone irks some users, and leaves the door open here for the competition.

Android recently became the most popular handset OS, and for good reason: it’s based on Linux, it’s open source, and it’s non-proprietary and very inexpensive (cost is a key factor in the success of handsets, which have a very short shelf life). It also offers many of the benefits of the iPhone; the two systems become more alike all the time. And there are many, many Android-based handsets to choose from.

So BlackBerry will be the corporate favorite, and iPhone and Android will battle it out for top honors in the consumer space. Note all of these can handle corporate apps with no problem, and all belong on a short list for that next handset purchase.

And, in case you were wondering, I think Android will be Number 1, the iPhone Number 2, and BlackBerry Number 3 – until another version of Linux comes along to challenge Android, something that’s not at all outside the realm of possibility

Iphone 5s, Should you upgrade your iphone?

the new iPhone 5S has the same 4-inch screen and overall design as the iPhone 5 (which is discontinued) but has a completely new feature set.
The 5S name follows the standard iPhone convention of following up a numbered model with an improved “S” version.

In addition to the white and black (space grey, apparently) variants, there is also a new gold and white version.
New is that the iPhone 5s includes dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi (and you get the Bluetooth 4.0 also found in the old iPhone 5).

iPhone 5S processor and graphics

There’s a 64-bit Apple A7 chip on board with more than a billion transistors (32-bit and 64-bit apps are supported) It is an incredible 56 times as fast as the original iPhone and twice as fast as the iPhone 5.

The first-of-its-kind chip packs twice as many transistors in a piece of silicon roughly the same size as the A6 – 102mm squared.
iOS 7 will obviously support the 64-bit chip, too. A native 64-bit kernel, libraries and drivers are all part of the package.
The graphics, featuring OpenGL ES 3.0, are also twice as fast and Apple was keen to demonstrate the gaming prowess of the handset with Infinity Blade 3.

iPhone 5S battery life and LTE

As for battery life, the iPhone 5S will allow for 10 hours of 3G talk time, and 10 hours of LTE browsing. Indeed, the iPhone 5S is better at mobile browsing on LTE than on 3G – 10 hours versus eight. Now that’s a leap forward.

According to Apple, the 5S battery can manage up to 250 hours of standby time, 10 hours of talk time on 3G, 10 hours of internet, 10 hours of video or 40 hours of audio. Almost all of that is increased from what the iPhone 5 could manage.

iPhone 5S camera

The camera is a case of same resolution, bigger sensor with the 8 megapixel device featuring a f/2.2 five element Apple designed lens. Video is 1080p, while there’s 120fps 720p slow motion, too, plus a burst mode.

It can capture a 28MP panorama that adjusts exposure as a user pans their camera. There’s also a new True Tone flash that variably adjusts color and intensity for more than 1,000 combinations. Flesh will appear more natural – no more washed out profile pics? The sensor includes a 15% larger active area, and pixels (taking the bigger is better route) amount to 1.5 microns.

iPhone 5S Touch ID

Apple has also introduced a new fingerprint reader on the home button of the iPhone 5S. It scans sub-epidermal skin layers, scans at 500ppi and is, incredibly just 170 microns thick.

There is also 360-degree readability so you wont have to reorient your finger every time you want to access your phone. Thanks to the ring around the home button, it knows your finger is there and you don’t have to tell it to scan. It can even scan your print at whatever angle you press the button at. It’s also integrated with iOS 7.
