apps for Smartphone or Pocket PC?

i am using i-mate jam. I am confused about what applications to download... those that say for smartphone or for pocket PC.


and there are some Pocket PC apps which on installation through Active Sync, display a message on my imate that the file is not a valid Windows CE cab file.... isnt imate a CAB installation ready device?
