na its applicable to gsm phones...the phones include models lik N series and all new phones...

actually here in India very few phones are locked to service providers...mayb vodafone has a few....

and regarding cdma i think the locking of mobile to a specific provider is based on the fact that the provider checks the phones id before giving the services...

yeah but i hv n70 and ids not locked plus m in india ..so if a customer buys a n70 from europe ...id gets locked when d customer inserts a sim card in it ?

nope consider like this a service provider has an offer where by u get a connection adn along wid the connection a cell phone at an discounted price say 10%....so ppl will can misue th offer by simply changing the sim and get a cell phone at a discounted price.....

so to prevent this arrives th concept of phone locking...where the phone can only work if the sim is of a particular network...and 2 unlock the phone w need codes in the format like *pw+xxxxxxxxxx+n# where xxxxxxx is phone & network dependant and n ranges from 1 to 7..


in old phones calculating the code was easy by using the imei but bb5 require cables etc to be connected to the phone...

Now earlier dis guy named dejan had done all the work etc he also found a way to get master code which can be used incase we forgt the master code it was also calculated by imei...

but in new phones ie bb5 it cant be calculated( as per my info) and u hav to connect the phone to the comp run nss read mem etc etc to get your forgotten code back...

Security Mastercode generator compatibility Will NOT work on any of BB5 generation (all newest phones), like:
3250, 5300, 5400, 5500, 6125, 6131, 6233, 6234, 6280, 6282, 6630, 6680, 6681, 6682, 7370, 7373, 7390, all E-series, all N-series.

So that app can't work on your N72.
Maybe you setup firmware for yours. I thinh so.
