I have used a lot of different phone models over the years and really think that the only options are SE or Nokia as is in your subject. Everything else just isn\'t there yet. Motorolas I tried back when the Startacs in the US first came out. My first was the VIP edition direct from Motorola and that one was exchanged twice. Then I had a blue one and a red one both of which failed within 6 months. The phones were popular but the quality was horrible. That may have changed since then but I am unwilling to try again with them. Panasonics are popular here in Greece now, but it always seems that anyone I speak to says their first is their last, so again that is not good. Siemens are just plain ugly to my eyes. I have had a number of Nokias but truthfully was not overly pleased with them. The quality was better than MOT but they just didn\'t last as long as I would have expected. SEs for me are the phone to use. I have used lots of different models from SE without major issues. The biggest problem with the SEs tends to be the speed of the menus which is sometimes annoying but I can live with that. I am eagerly awaiting the new S700 which will surely be my replacement to my Z600. Why? Just because I like getting new models (as most of us here I think). The phone offers nothing I need that the Z600 doesn\'t do. Sure it has better picture quality but I prefer using a digital camera for photos.
So, I guess I said a lot more than you were really asking but I just wanted to give my personal opinion of the different models in the list. Also, note that Alcatel is not in the list at all. When I made the list I was sure that no one could possibly be awaiting the release of a new Alcatel phone. I owned one and that one was so bad I gave it away within 2 months and then it died about 6 months later (perhaps he killed it just to get rid of it).

agree, Sonyerricson\'s big problem is slow menu navigation, but it comes with more feature rather than nokia at the same price

i\'d suggest you make a list of all the features that you look for in a phone (GPRS/EDGE, bluetooth, memory capacity, etc.) and find if there is an existing phone made by either nokia or SE. if both manufacturers offer a model with the features your looking for, i suggest you go with SE. mostly because the price depriciation of their units are not that quick and your phone would stay in the \"new model zone\" longer than nokia (since they release a new phone every so often).
even though im currently using a nokia 6600, i would have bought a T610/T630 if only it had more internal memory (2MB against 6MB) or the availability of expansion slots (MMC/SD).
just make sure that when you buy a phone, all of the features your looking for are in it.

i would have to agree, ill go wit nokia, they have good nav tools and menuing is easy, they havnt come up with too many stupid ideas (not saying SE has), nokia have been around all the years and have got mobile design down to an art. i dont really like the joystiks on some of the SEs so that took their points down abit. nokia have just taken the cake in my book, soo it will be good to see what the future holds for these to companys.

Nokia does it 4 me as well. Iv had plenty different models of phones through the years and i have found that nokia is far better then any other make. I suppose you can class nokia as the Ford of motor cars rather than a ferrari the reason why is that there are more products and services available to nokia than any other make. You can get a ford fixed quicker and cheaper than a ferrari dunno if it sounds right but what the hell hehehehehe :D

the keys on the SE are quite small wich is kinda annoying, slow menus, and i never did like the erricsons phones before it became SE... nokia on the other hand has been my fav since forever, i had one that lasted me about 4 years and i treated it like S H I T1, literally, and it still managed to survive... its still in use by another owner. so my vote goes for nokia.

I think nokia\'s phone designs are too \"immature\", \"cuties\". I like sony ericsson\'s approach of being elegant, stylish, sleek, more useful and appropriate design.

same goes for me :D i find sony- ericsson quite confusing....but there\'s one thing bout nokia now...it\'s not as handy...it used to be with the 3210 and 6210...but it\'s starting to get kinda bulky right now...is ergonomic the right word? it doesn\'t fit the hand right...i have a 3660 and well, im quite an sms person so i kinda get hand cramps :D what i like about nokia is the quality of the pictures, unlike S-Es it\'s not as clear...:) but i was actually thinking of getting a z600 but then again, i like having a video recorder...:D even if i could just record short clips :D Also, i find nokia phones very long lasting...my 6210 lasted for 4 years...still working...with all original parts :D but maybe it really just depends on the user :):D
