Sorry m8, nowadays I only use this app. as a map reference (to mark particular places like my friends houses in other towns and stuff) so I`m not going to be much of a help..

I have tested ezGPS Bluetooth GPS receiver with xemics ultralow power chipset extensively. It is a good reciver with 16 channels. you can buy it from ebay for about £ 40-45 or may be even less. In ideal conditions you can get a fix of 8-9 satellites. only 3 are required for navigational purpose.
However looking at reviews and the fact that all 3 big names in GPS i.e TomTom, Navman and Garmain use Srif 3 chipset I would recommend one with this chipset. It is highly sensitive with senstivity of -158 dBm. Go for the one with solar power. they are about £55.0 on ebay. It can work from pocket . I hope that was helpful

further to above the recomended GPS receiver is capable of 20 chanels. do not be impressed with a 32 channel GPS receivers as Navstar project has only 28 satellites in space and currently only 24 are operational.
