Calendar Outlook v2.1
A calendar widget for Nokia N97 that behaves like the "today view" from MS Outlook to provide a quick overview of the next upcoming events. On the N97 homescreen it shows 4 lines and if there are more events then it will be scrolling.
Changelog v2.1
- - Settings are now categorized
- - Added additional storages to save settings to (both storages are turned on by default):
- - Calendar entry (survives software updates):
- - Calendar entry storage stores all the settings into a day event in the calendar. If the event
- - exists and software gets updated, then it can restore the settings from this event.
- - If you only use this additional storage, than settings get lost after firmware update.
- - Even a sync with outlook might not help depending on your sync settings.
- - (I must admit that I got that additional idea from ComingNext, only implemented Server database before)
- - Server database (survives firmware updates and hard reset):
- - Server side storages can be used if internet connection is allowed.
- - CalendarOutlook contacts my server with a database and uses the following fields IMEI, MachineId, FirmwareVersion, PhoneModel and ProductType to identify the device. If there are already some settings stored, then it uses the settings stored on the server and writes them to the local storage, which usually gets lost by software or firmware update.
So the only communication that is done is the initial load of the settings from DB if available and storing the settings every time you change the setting. Since there is only some little text transfer its very less traffic.- - Now up to 6 widget are possible
- - Import of settings from other Calendar Outlook widgets is now possible from settings main page
- - New Settings for Homescreen to set entries to skip and maximum entries to show. These are for supporting multiple widgets. For example, if you want to use three widget, then you need to change them to the following values:
- - Widget 1:
Number of entries to skip: 0
Maxiumum number of entries: 4- - Widget 2:
Number of entries to skip: 4
Maxiumum number of entries: 4- - Widget 3:
Number of entries to skip: 8
Maxiumum number of entries: any setting allowed here- - (Note: The setting to show ToDo's on homescreen and "Number of days for outlook" must be the same for all widgets)
- - Update now works with multiple widgets
- - Now outlook can be set to 92 days
- - Fixed daylight saving issue for europe
- - Implemented date format for just showing the short weekday name (EE)
- - Optimized message keys
- - Build.xml can now build all widgets at once
