Samsung's new G800 slider is now official, packing a 5 megapixel autofocus camera in a rather attractive metallic form; that in itself isn't terribly notable, considering we already have a handful of 5 megapixel handsets on the market. What is notable, though, is the added bonus of a xenon flash and 3x optical (yes, optical) zoom.
Also include Bluetooth, HSDPA, and a generously sized QVGA display,
starting in November . No word on the price yet

Nokia's S60 Touch Interface announced



Nokia is showing off their new S60 Touch Interface at the Symbian Smartphone Show today. Unlike their last attempt, this effort was demonstrated on a more Nokia-like concept device. The touch-interface supports haptic feedback and accepts both finger and stylus inputs depending upon the display technology used. Feast your eyes on the video after the break until all the details become available.

Only have a byte of info information about the new S60 software: existing S60 3rd Edition apps will run on touch-enabled devices unmodified (but can be further enhanced, natch); generic proximity and light sensors supported; a UI Accelerator Toolkit enables "impressive" graphical effects; and Flash Video will be supported in the S60 web browser. Available to S60 device manufacturers "during 2008...

In addition to the touchscreen UI / Symbian which was presented by Nokia last week, two new features—ScreenPlay and FreeWay—are coming to add even more sophistication to the platform.

ScreenPlay is their new graphics engine that allows transparency and animations without taking up too much more battery life.

FreeWay is less visible, but it's a new IP networking stack/architecture on 3G networks/WiMax to allow faster audio/video streaming and VoIP calling.

The Tokyo Auto Show is bringing us some wicked concepts, including this Suzuki Biplane motorcycle. Inspired by the classic biplane first introduced by the Wright Brothers, we're a bit confused exactly where the twin stacked wings fit within this redesign, but who knows, maybe Suzuki has made motorcycles fly. Not to mention, there's about a 50/50 chance that you could instantly turn into a super hero when sitting on this bike...which counts for something. bendable OLED display- from Samsung




At the FPD International 2007 an expo showcasing display technologies in Yokohama Japan Samsung showed the world's first bendable OLED display. The 4.3 inch display has a resolution of 480 x 272 dots, brightness of 200 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Samsung however kept mum on the development status and when the technology would go mainstream. However it does look very promising and one day we might just roll up the TV after viewing
