The Rules

There's no charge for joining this community. We do insist that all Imserbian abide by the rules and policies detailed below.

We don't intend to censor messages based on the opinions expressed within posts, but we will enforce the policies outlined both here and on the Forum. We reserve the right to remove, modify or move posts at our discretion and without explanation.

If you come across any violations to these guidelines or have any problems navigating the site, do not hesitate to let us know through the Imserba Contact Form. We'll be happy to address your concerns.

Here at Imserba we encourage everyone to participate in and enjoy the Community while at the same time adhering to these Guidelines:

Respect!!

This is a Imserbian community, experienced and inexperienced people.
it's okay to be yourself as long as you always act with respect for your fellow Imserbian as well as the Imserba staff. Our goal will be to treat our members as we would wish to be treated on their Forums. You are not expected to leave your personality at the door. There are going to be topics and discussions that will have heated debates. Please think before you post and re-read what you type before you post it. Keep your comments limited to the debate at hand and do not make this a personal issue between you and another Imserbian.

Be Welcoming!
When new Imserbians arrive, welcome them to our growing community. Many of senior Imserbians are a wealth of knowledge and have much to share. Help new Imserbians learn about how to find information and resources, save time, and how to get involved in the Community.

NO SPAM!!
Pretend you run these forums, ok so in essence you do. Before you hit the submit button think if you would allow that post on your site or on your forums. Only you can prevent Spam and cross posting. Imserba Staff are here to help you so if you have a problem post your request in the appropiate forums. There are many imserbian covering various areas of development and skill level. They are all willing to help you at the drop of a hat.

If you've been caught or accused of a wrongdoing please don't be irrational. Most of the time we revoke privileges as a safety measure not as a personal vendetta and we are usually just as quick to reinstate them, as we were to revoke them. Just e-mail us and ask what happened. If you know what happened write your side of the story.

Be Courteous!
Don't attack others. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully ... without insult and personal attack.

Keep personal information personal!
hink before you post or speak: Do you really want to put your address or telephone number on a public discussion forum? We encourage you to keep personal information personal.

In the same vein, do not ask for personal information from others. Discussion forum posts that request Imserbians to submit personal information to another party will be removed. Information that should be considered personal includes but is not limited to your home phone number, name, and age. If you must give this out for any reason, please do so privately.

No Cross-Posting
Do not post the same discussion more than once on a discussion forum or on many forums. Duplicate discussions are frustrating and counterproductive for other Imserbians, especially for those whose time and energy is limited. Duplicate discussions will be deleted.

No Advertising – Spam
Do not heedlessly place your advertisements through the Discussion Forums. This will be considered SPAM and could result in the loss of your Imserba Membership. Affiliate links are not allowed within the forums. If you wish to promote a particular program then promote the program not your own affiliate tie with it.

No Copyrighted Material and Hacking activites
You cannot legally post entire articles or news in the forum without permission from the copyright holder. Even if you attribute the article correctly it is still copyright infringement. Do not reproduce substancial parts of articles or news items from other sites in the forums. Please include a relevant line or two from the article at most, and provide a link to the full article. If you are not sure if you can copy something then always err on the side of caution and simply post a link to the material.

Information copyrighted or owned by any individual or entity other than the member should not be posted on the discussion forums or software libraries without the consent of the owner. If such an event occurs, the individual posting the information shall be held solely responsible. Imserba shall not be held responsible for member-posted information that may violate copyright law.

Imserba also disallows posting of hacking, cracking related posts, queries or requests. Any such post, query and/or request will be deleted immediatelly without any warning.
USING THE PRIVATE MESSAGE SYSTEM
The private message system of the forums allows you to send messages to other Imserbians in private. Where applicable, the same guidelines apply to the private message system as apply to messages posted on the forums.

Sending any unrequested commercial and/or bulk message through the private message system may result in an immediate suspension of posting privileges. Furthermore, any reports of harassment via the PM system will be fully investigated. To report an abusive or unwanted PM, please use the Imserba Contact Form.

FINALLY, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT
Imserba reserves the right to remove a post which does not relate to the topic being discussed in the forum. In addition, Imserba reserves the right to organize discussion forums in order to best serve the majority of our members. For example, narrow-interest or minimal activity topics may, at Imserba's discretion, be relocated to a more appropriate discussion forum, or deleted entirely.

Imserba also reserves the right to prohibit or delete discussions that are thought to violate applicable law or that may be harmful to other members, the sites that comprise Imserba, or the rights of Imserba or others. That said, Imserba does not have the practical ability to restrict conduct or communications that might violate these Guidelines or the Terms of Service prior to transmission on AOL or the Web, nor can we ensure prompt removal of offending discussion forum posts.

We also reserve the right to remove your membership from you should you violate these Guidelines

Let make imserba a best community

Just follow the quick guidance below to help us make a peaceful and better imserba!!

Good Posting
Your post content should be readable by anyone. We strongly encourage that you type in full words and not in leet, text or web language. These are allowed to our discretion of our staff and should not be over used within post content. You should try making sentences understandable. Posting like an idiot will not lead you anywhere but being an idiot.

Good posting suggestions:
1. Write a to-the-point post title: *Windows XP SP2 issues* is a better subject than *HELP ME!!!*
2. To keep the database size sane, do not quote posts which are already at the last of the thread.
3. Whining, Abusing and personal attacks not acceptable.
Annoying the people @ imserba is unacceptable as well.
4. Crappy, offending and useless Signatures would be modified without any warnings.
5. Moderators reserve the right to ban, delete, block any user.
6. No more bad language on the forum
7. Profanities would be deleted unannounced and the poster will be infracted/banned.
8. If you want to delete a particular post of yours, just report it. Or empty it and leave a message.
9. Imserba uses English as the language to interact. We suggest you do the same.
Non English language posts will be deleted without warning.

About Warnings
Warnings are your chances of being able to participate. They are given by moderators to rule breakers. All warnings are logged in and noted for later use. Once your warning level is 100% will get banned.

About Appreciations
Any appreciations are not allowed anymore, we already put a thanks button for that usage. posting any appreciation will be warned. Example appreciation but not limited to.
great works!!, thanks you, great post, post more...
You also are not allowed to force imserbians to click that button!
No Fraud/Bogus Thanking. Creation of Multiple ID's and Thanking yourself is Under constant Patrol

No Spam
SPAM stands for: Stupid Pointless Messages/Materials, posting irrelevant or inappropriate messages.. Spamming on our boards will get you warned or even banned depending on severity of the message. SPAM does not mean posting 100’s of topics in a week non stop. But it must be quality posts.
Below you can find definitions of spam in some cases, but not limited to.
  • Off-topic posts; any post that is totally irrelevant to the topic of discussion or forum is classified as spam. MODS: If the user is fairly new and posted in the wrong forum, and which the post content is not considered SPAM you should move the topic to the right forum and pm the user not to do it again and read the rules. Excessive spam will result in post privileges taken away.
  • Intentional post count rising; Posting comments just to raise your post count is considered as SPAM. A common instance of this is replying to questions that have already been answered and repeating the answer (see; Bumping Dead Topics), or just posting nonsense that has absolutely nothing to do with that forum or discussion at hand.
  • One Word replies/topic; those are considered SPAM unless the topic asks for one word
  • Person to person topics; those are considered as SPAM too, just use private message to contact each other.

No Flame wars
Serious discussions are allowed but when the users are discriminating each other, the user responsible for this action will be warned or banned for an amount of time depending on circumstances. Examples but not limited to
  • Insults; Any types of direct vulgar and/or discrimination of a member is considered. Criticism and insulting is totally different.
  • Homosexual discrimination; Any type of homosexual swearing to another member of the board or anyone else is considered as flaming. Whether it’d be false claims that the members being flame is a homosexual, or mocking homosexual for the sexual preferences.
  • Racial discrimination; Any direct or indirect racial comment to someone is considered flaming and you will be severely punished for it.
  • Sexual discrimination; any type of sexual vulgar to someone on the board is considered as flaming, even describing explicit sexual behaviour involving the member being flamed.

No Trolling
Trolls are on the worst kind of people on the net. Trolling is different from flaming. Trolling means to intently antagonise another person. A better definition: (Deliberately posting false information in order to elicit responses from people who really want to help. A typical response might be, "No, Bart Simpson was NOT one of our founding fathers.")
Trolling is where a member provokes another member into an argument or flame war by means of flaming the member, or making a post when the member knows full-well that it will cause an argument or flame war.
A common example of "trolling" is when a member posts something that insults/provokes another group of members/moderators.

No Advertising
Advertising is when a member intentionally post a link to advertise their site or sites they work for, to farm users out of imserba, excessive use of external link or you are farming users from our site, you will be banned.
Imsebians are requested to not post any referrel id's, advertise/promote their own site. If a imserbian has something useful to share which is on his site, he/she should post it at imserba directly instead of diverting traffic to their own site/blog. Any post containing link to your own referral link to sites offering (or claiming) to offer free/cheap services may result in a ban/infringement. The management reserves all the rights to take appropriate decision in such cases without giving any reason to the user.

Post deletion requests
If you find a post which you find overly offensive, please Private Message a moderator or contact us and we'll determine any further course of action.

Requesting to be a moderator
DO NOT REQUEST to be a moderator, we will hand pick them ourselves. The only way you could be chosen is if you are very active and behave like a former and help around.
