You can hack it with helloOx
Also with hellocarbide
You don't need to hack it; you simply need to get your own certificate & key first (from OPDA...search Google for OPDA Symbian certificate).
Of course you need a cheap MicroUSB cable for efficient transfer of data to the phone from the computer (or simply a card reader than can read MicroSD cards, so you can transfer SIS files from the computer to the phone's memory card).
You will need to sign in and submit your phone's IMEI number to their website (the IMEI number is a unique number found on the box of your phone or through a special key combination to show up on your phone's display). You will need to wait some time to receive your key & certificate. After you get your certificate and key, you use these files to sign your own apps with apps used to sign unsigned apps that you may download off the net. FreeSigner is an app that can be used on the phone to sign apps. All unsigned SIS files on your phone must be signed (yourself) to install the apps. This is what I do. You can also get signing apps for the PC. After you sign the apps you downloaded (like apps here or apps outside of Nokia's store), you can install the apps and ignore all the security warnings when installing them.
If you have a bluetooth GPS receiver (like the Holux M-1000 or any similar model, found for under 50 dollars these days) you can use your phone as a GPS navigator without internet!
Get Nokia Ovi Maps 3.01.4401 (CNSTeam), sign it and then install it on your phone. Start it up once so it can build your "Cities" directory on your memory card, then exit the program. Now you can install maps on the memory card after reading up how to do it. The latest version of maps suitable for version 3.01 of the Nokia Ovi Maps app is maps is currently maps version 0.1.28.106 (do not get any other version of maps newer or older than this; certain maps versions (and Index Files that need to be installed with the maps) will only work for phones that can use Maps (application) version 3.06 and later!).
Use Nokia Discussion Forums to find out how to (manually) put maps onto it for your country or countries (you can even install over 70 countries that Nokia offer if your MicroSD card has enough space). You need both a map & the corresponding Index Files to search things offline on the phone.
Nokia doesn't officially support the E63 for maps these days, so you have to do it yourself and can't do it through Ovi Suite or Nokia Suite because the phone is unsupported, but it's all VERY POSSIBLE with a bluetooth GPS receiver and some patience investigating. Use the blueooth GPS receiver you (optionally bought) for navigation and you will get all-day battery life. The long battery life and sunlight-readable screen on the E63 is great. If you put maps on there, you can go to Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Positioning > Positioning Methods and just select Bluetooth GPS there and un-check the rest.
Or you can also use internet if you want, and download Google Maps or something and I think you don't even have to buy a GPS, but it's not as accurate and it requires a data connection (and sucks down your battery more). I prefer bluetooth GPS receivers.
TotalRecall can be used to record phone conversations without beeps (the phone goes into Silent mode when answering the phone and records the phone call).
Garmin Mobile XT can be used for navigation too (it's a little tricky to install and register maps for first-timers).
FreeTimeBox can be used to synchronise your E63's time with the GPS satellites (or the internet) if you want to use your external bluetooth GPS receiver for time sync or the internet for time sync. It can be found on Google.
*Skype can be installed on the phone through Nokia's Store (free).
*Windows Messenger can be installed on the phone through Nokia's store (free).
*Yahoo Messenger can be installed on the phone through Nokia's store (free).
*Corecodec CorePlayer can be installed for playing MP4 video files (and almost everything else; it plays audio too if you don't want to use Nokia's in-built player)
*JBTaskMan can be instaalled to manage running programs on your device and also add easy shortcuts to them on one screen (free).
*Smartphoneware Best Blacklist can be used to blacklist certain people you don't want to hear from (they can get a busy signal sent to them automatically).
*Opera Mobile [full-featured web browser] can be installed free (see Opera's website). Signed already.
*Opera Mini [website browser that shrinks web pages from Opera's servers but offers less security] can be installed free (see Opera's website). Signed already.
*LonelyCatGames X-Plore is essential for browsing your files sanely (much better than the phone's in-built file manager found in Menu > Office > File Mgr.). I can't live without it. It's free but has a timed nag.
* There are better calendars than what comes with the phone (takes some time to get used to), such as AquaCalendar & SBSH Calendar. You can also change your Calendar key on your phone to start the Calendar you installed instead of opening the phone's calendar when you hit the button. (Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > One-Touch Keys > Calendar Key > Short Press > .....then find & choose your favourite calendar program which you may have installed!). You can change the apps that are opened on the other buttons too.
Have fun with your E63.
The most annoying this for me was just learning to sign apps myself, then finding the signing apps to put my certificate & key in there to tell it to sign with my files. Then running those signed files (not the unsigned ones) on my phone. Very annoying, even today.
It was also annoying waiting for the key to be generated (had to wait several hours for the OPDA website to generate them both for me...I had to log in the next day to see my certificate & key finished and waiting for me to download it).
Symbian is a pain in the butt! (but good when tamed)
