there are no remote unlock codes for BB5 phones yet (that includes 6630)
there is a hardware unlock option wherein some parts of the phone will be removed and replaced. this option is at your own risk since it will mean the phone will be opened and tinkered with
there is also the cable unlock solution but for BB5 phones, it has to be higher firmware. most vodafone 6630 phones are using 2.something firmware. the cable unlock solution requires at least a 3.5 firmware for it to be able to access the phone. still, having a firmware of 3.5 doesnt guarantee the phone will be unlock. it only means the software can now access the phone contents and can attemp to make the phone openline
thanks for the reply, do you have an idea what kind or part of the hardware of the fone will be replace to be able to open line because it is offered to me by the technician before.
So if i go to some store and asked it to be "flashed" will my vodafone be opened and i could use globe and smart sim cards?Originally Posted by imserba4life
for the hardware solution, a chip will be replaced. thats why only a few stores offer the hardware solution since biggest problem is the source of these chips (not sure lately of supply though last checked was around april). the process itself is quite easy that even a novice techinician will be able to do it. the problem is the replacement chip. i can show you the diagram of what needs to be done (if i can still find it somewhere in my pc)
the cable solution however (the so called flashing) wont involve any part being replaced. if you are lucky enough to find a store who knows how to unlock bb5 phones through cable then good. take note that the old sofwares used to cable unlock other phones will most likely not work for BB5 phones (though there are a few that will work)
both solutions however, are risky. there are lots of stores that claim they know how to unlock BB5 phones but in reality they only know how to unlock the older phones (DCT4,DCT3,DCT2, etc)
tarantado ka imserba4life kung wala kang alam sa mga usapan d2 wag kana makialam u dam **** men. balg already told that it is possible to replaced hardware. isa kang BOBO!!!! GAGO!!!
Hello, I'm from the Philippines as well. Mga pre. hehehe.. Where can I find the shop that does the hardware replacement to unlock the 6630? I can't seem to find any store in the Greenhills that does that. Thanks
options are limited as Balg said. there are claims of flashing devices that can unlock BB5 phones like the 6630 but the device itself would be at least $10K therefore it is not economical to do it and I havent heard of any shop here in the philippines that does that. although it would be possible to change the IMEI chip (hindi ako sigurado if this is the one to be changed) as mentioned above but doing so is supposed to be illegal so be careful about that.
ang punto lang eh mahirap oh kung hindi ay wala pa nago-open line ng 6630 so huwag ka bibili unless may alam ka nang nago-openline nito., okies???
