Increase Camera Quality 5mp Camera Phones(Surely Working)

I red about that we can improve the camera quality and the pictures taken can be increase by 500kb to 900 kb and even 1.5mb for 5mp camera phones so i did search for it and found it and then i tried on my Nokia 6220 classic 5mp camera phone..So its really works for me,,picture quality improved+picture size gone from 704kb to 1.2mb

The procedure is only for 5Mega Pixel camera phone

I will share for other models like 2mp and 3mp later.....

Download the file and copy the file to memory card in any folder...

1- Hack your phone first by HellooX2.3

2- Install Xplore

3- After hacking open Roampatcher and apply the patch open4all (this will allow you to open and browse your PRIVATE folders) and exit

4- Open Xplore---- click MENU >> TOOLS >> CONFIGURATION ---- make sure the first 4 boxes are TICKED ---- click BACK

5- Now moved the downloaded file that ones copied to the memory card to the C:\private\10202BE9

Remember do not copy it move it

6- Exit XPLORE and reboot your phone

Your phone should now have better camera quality and higher file size..

Checked on N95-6220 classic perfectly working

Procedure has been used in N79,N95-8gb,6220 Classic and pictures quality got better and also file size..So

I prefer to do things manually. here is the step on how to do this:

HOW TO MODIFY 5MP CAMERA

requirements:
1. hacked series 60 3rd edition feature pack 2
2. XPLORE

1. make sure your phone is HACKED and is capable of exploring the PRIVATE folder

OPTION 1: use CAPSOFF application
2.1.a. open CAPSOFF - phone won't really open, screen will just blink (this will allow you to open and browse your PRIVATE folders)
OPTION 2: use ROMPATCHER with patch OPEN4ALL
2.2.a. open ROMPATCHER
2.2.b. highlight patch OPEN4ALL >> OPTIONS >> PATCH >> APPLY (this will allow you to open and browse your PRIVATE folders)

2. open XPLORE ---- click MENU >> TOOLS >> CONFIGURATION ---- make sure the first 4 boxes are TICKED ---- click BACK

3. navigate to: Z:\private\10202be9 ---- look for the file "10282EDC.txt"

4. click [1] (shortcut for COPY), and paste this in C:\private\10202BE9

5. navigate to: C:\private\10202be9\10282EDC.txt (with the file 10282EDC.txt highlighted), click [8] (shortcut to edit file content) ---- a window will open

6. look for the line similar to this:

7. change the following accordingly:

7.1. Compression Quality = 85 >>>> Compression Quality = 100

7.2. EstimatedSize = 650000 >>>> EstimatedSize = 890000

10. your phone should now have better camera quality and higher file size

this is the procedure i did with my Nokia N79 v30.019. now my images range from 700kb-1.5mb.

in my experience, this seems to work well with 5mp phones. N82 however, does not really need this mod since it is already been treated by Nokia to be one of the best camera phones. meaning, what you have now with the N82, is the best you could get with that phone. also, there is still no working mod for the Nokia 6120c.

to see if this thing worked. try to take a picture without this mod. next, apply the modification(don't forget to restart your phone), and then take a picture. make sure that the angle, location, and lighting conditions of both pictures are almost the same to give you a good comparison. also, take pictures of several areas that may seem to be of a good standard of comparison.

place both pictures with no mod and with mod into your PC and then check there if it really has worked. it's better to look at it in the PC since sometimes the improvement in quality is barely noticeable in such small mobile screens.

take note:

7.1. Compression Quality = 85 >>>> Compression Quality = 100

7.2. EstimatedSize = 650000 >>>> EstimatedSize = 890000

100 and 890000 is the maximum you can apply. if you increase this even further, it will not work.

Thank you so much xcess! Your tip does really work! The pics do look more crips and they have less artifacts! My estimated pictures where also lowered from ~6000 to ~4500 so it's not just placebo :P
Let's see what other things we can do with the 10282EDC.txt file

There is no such file in Z:\private\10202be9
my device is Nokia N95 8gb hacked 31.0.015
Installed all patches

Another one thing in N95 usually the image size is 800kb in day and in night it is around 1.3 mb

then why this is needed?

I did not mention that this procedure is needed for all mobile phones and if you are happy with it then dont go for this so keep it just the way it is...

And after applying open4all patch then u can see the file in folder Z:\private\10202be9\10282EDC.txt
