> myPlayer streaming service - preconfigured VLC connectivity
‡ HTC's bundled StreamingPlayer should also work for the BBC iPlayer content on faster devices (for example the HTC Touch HD)
> The .NET 2.0 Compact Framework (which should come with Windows Mobile 6.0 and above as standard)
> An internet connection that is UK based (or media server running VLC* that resolves a UK address - a preconfigured service is now available)
* Please install VLC version 1.0.1 to use this feature (for full details on the VLC implementation please read this post or watch the video demonstration)
The application has initially be developed and tested on an HTC Kaiser (TyTN II) but it should be compatible with most Windows Mobile 6.0 devices. It has recently been updated to support a wide range of resolutions: VGA, WVGA, etc.
*** Whilst streaming video this application will use a considerable amount of bandwidth - please ensure you use it via an unlimited data policy ***
User feedback is always appreciated and should help to improve the usability of future releases.
myPlayer is a freeware application. Any donation towards the project will be gratefully received.
All of the content streamed via this application is copyright of the BBC, ITV, SKY, Channel Five, Hulu or MSN respectively.
