Unhappy Problem with sound in my 6630...

Hi everybody! I bought 6630 few weeks ago...everything was good but...maybe a week ago i bought Nokia HDS-3 headset. It's MONO...:/ I don't know why coz the headset looks like original hds-3...and it sounds silent. When i heard it i went to the shop where i bought my 6630. They told me "this headset is mono!" And then they gave me an other original nokia headset (but i don't know which...) And...it was a STEREO sound! So, what is the problem? This is hardware problem or maybe i have to buy a ad-15 adapter (tell me - it will work on my 6630 in stereo without problems??) PLZ help me guys!

No, if u have a mono speaker (even in the phone), u cant listen Stereo sound through Headset... it only looks that u r listening Stero from Headset.. IN STEREO case, the sounds divide in both headsets (like music in one and voice in other one,{depends on the song}).. but in MONO case, even u have attached the STEREO headset, the sound will be same on both sides. (Voice and Music are equal on both sides...) .....

    Hope u got the point............

u wrong......Its impossible to have stereo through one speaker, for stereo sound u need two speakers, whether the phone is stereo through speakers or not doesnt affect its headset output, nokia 6630 is mono through speaker but its stereo through headset, i guarantee this .....Obviously if da song is mono ur always gonna hear mono

Re: Problem with sound in my 6630...

6630 is stereo... you wont notice the difference if you listen to it via the speakers. but you will notice it if you use headset

but, if the file you are playing is mono, then it wont matter

    ---------
The 6630 is the first series 60 based model to support stereo audio output

6630 is true stereo. phones like 3230 only have dual stereo (two speakers)

Re: Problem with sound in my 6630...

There's nothing wrong with your 6630, I've also tried mono earphones on mine and it was silent. I own a 6630 and it's stereo on earphones, I already compared it with ipod, if I get 'bling bling' on the left ear, I also get it at the left ear of my 6630...

Anyway, since you're buying a new earphone, get the HS-23 (N80 earphone) It's the best earphone you can get for your 6630. Trust me, I already tried sennheisers on 6630 via ad-15, but the HS-23 sounded way better!! It's not that I'm saying that sennhiesers suck but nokia earphones are optimized for nokia fones, thus, nokia only for nokia

and dimingo, thats what i am saying..... that u will get equal sound on both speakers..... THAT HAPPENS WHEN U ATTACH STEREO HEADSET TO MONO PHONE........ so if u think that is stereo, then you are right... but this is not true stereo.........

You've completely misunderstood me, forgive me if what I said earlier is somewhat confusing to you. So I'll make it clear once and for all, 6630 sound output is stereo:

On a stereo recording of animals where a dog's bark goes the left ear and a cat's meow goes to the right ear.. We put that recording in an ipod. The dog's bark goes to left earpiece and the cat's meow goes to right earpiece, it gives a false sensation of the dog is at your left and the cat is at right - that's what stereo sound is meant to be. A mono device will never become stereo even if plug a stereo headset to it.

Now we put the same stereo animal sound clip in a 6630, and plug a stereo earphone, same thing happens(dog bark is heard at left earpiece and cat is at right) why? Because 6630 has stereo output.

But.. it's also possible that 6630 can be 'mono'. One is some people is less sensitive to distinguish stereo sound than others, this is not due to hearing defect, it has more to do with our brains(like taking drugs can affect our hearing perception). The earphone's response to frequencies is also a factor. I remember the original earphones of 6630 is bordering mono in sound, but with hs-23, the stereo output is more distinguished(both earphones are stereo). But I must admit, 6630's stereo capability is somewhat downrated(maybe this is what ABC meant by 'half stereo'), but nevertheless, it's still stereo, as I have tested it thouroughly
