What is MCFixer? well quite simply if you have ever managed to corrupt your MMC, Format it NTFS/FAT32. You will find that the N-Gage just refuses to work with it. This Symbian (.sis) app sits in your phones user memory (only 31k).

This software is developed and distributed for free. It's only goal is to help other
Nokia N-Gage users. Although it has passed some tests, by using the software you do so
at your own risk. In no event shall the author be responsible for any damages
whatsoever (for example, hardware and software damage, loss of data, or any other
pecuniary loss or any other real or consequential damages) arising out of the use or
inability to use this product. Please remember that this is a BETA version, which
needs more tests. After running the repairing routine it is expected that the
reported card size will be equal to it's original value, and it will be detected by
N-Gage USB conection, but all data stored on it will be lost!

USAGE:
Following are described the steps needed to carry through the memory card recovery:
Warning: Read all the steps before starting the procedure.

1º - Make sure that there’s no important data in the card that have no backup of
which in another physical media, therefore the card will be completely erased.

2º - The MCFixer came in a .sis installation file that can be installed from the
N-Gage application manager. For such, is necessary that .sis installation file be
copied for the N-Gage (memory card or internal memory). Any of the common ways of
transmission can be used (ie. send by mail, Bluetooth, memory card...). After
installation the .sis file can be deleted if needed.

3º - IMPORTANT: The MCFixer must be installed in the device's INTERNAL MEMORY (not
in memory card). In the current version it occupies only 31Kb, then this should not be
a problem. Any way, make sure that there’s available space for the installation.

4º - After the MCFixer installation, the program can be accessed from the device's
menu. When the program is opened the current selected drive can be seen in the status
bar (E.g.: "Current drive: E:"). Make sure that the selected drive is the memory card.
In the case it it's not, the correct drive can be chosen from menu:
"Options->Select drive". In N-Gage, E: is usually the memory card drive.

5º - The card restore process is done by the Wizard in 4 steps:
1 - Find card's first sector.
2 - Find card's last sector.
3 - Write card's boot sector
4 - Format card.
To start the wizard, select the menu item: "Options->Fix MC Wizard->Start wizard"
The application have another options that are mere informative and they do not modify
the device or memory card, except the item: "Options->Format drive" that obviously
formats currently selected drive and erases all its data.

6º - To execute each wizard step, select the menu item:
"Options->Fix MC Wizard->Execute". To cancel the wizard execution select:
"Options->Fix MC Wizard->Cancel". The execution can be cancelled in any step of
wizard, however, steps 1 and 2 do not modify the card. In the other hand, after the
step 3 execution the card is already modified and is recommended that wizard is executed
until the end.

7º - Close the MCFixer selecting "Exit" option and restart the device.

KNOWN BUGS:
Depending on the card state, some times, two wizard executions are needed to have
identified the correct card size. But attention! Always restart the device immediately
after each wizard execution.

Hi,
My friend just gave me his corrupted mmc(kingmax 128mb),I formatted it using my pc but after that the capacity of that mmc was reduced to 60mb only. I tried to format it using my QD but it still the same. I scan with antivirus program on both pc and phone but they not detecting any virus.Anyway,I format his phone and then installed all the programs that he has before(he also using Ngage QD) and then tested them with his QD.They seem to be no problem at this time(though it still show 60mb).After a week with no problem,he scared me when he said his mmc had been corrupted again.I look at it and yes they're corrupted.So again I scan it with antivirus program on pc and phone but still they're not detecting any virus.Again,I format it using my pc,and now guess what,it's capacity now show only 30mb.I try use mc fixer and the bios show it has 128mb,but when I finished running the wizard and restart the phone,it still show 30mb.Anyone have an idea how this could happen?Is there a virus out there which powerful enough to cause something like this?Anyone,some help,please....

try to format it using a card reader. just choose FAT.

my friends if someone have corrupt memory you should to install MC Fixer v1.0, and then go to it and choose E (it's mean memory card) then go down and you will see FORMATE DRIVE click on it and then you will one message say: ALL DATA WILL BE LOST IN E.ARE YOU SURE? then click ok and then go to your memory card and am sure it's will be fixing, cuz i had this error before , good luck friends it's easy

Sure it works? I have the same problem as ashong too. I cant seems to format. It is successfully formated... but i still see all my files and application in my memory card. elvis, your way can solve this problem? I dont want to make my mmc worst that i need to buy a new one.

yesssssssssss.... great software..thanks a lot friends finally i got solution to my MMC cards.. i have Two 1GB MMC card(Transend and NCP). both corrupted.. i install mcfixer and format through it.. now MMC cards work fine.. thanksssssssssssssssssssssssss a lot.....
