wanna unlock my blackberry 6280

hi,

my friend has just given me a gift which he bought in US. its a blackberry 6280. but it is locked to AT&T Wireless network.

i've seached for unlocking it and found websites asking for minimum 100$ for unlocking this device.

this device cost 50$ or less here in PK with standard kit boxed packed. and the one i've is 2nd hand device (used). which only costs about 30$ (1800pkr) in local market. also this device is not famous here, and no shop have its unlocking software/tools.

so, i'm just wondering why those websites asks too much for unlocking such a cheap device...

anyway, i'd be glad if someone could help me unlocking this device. i noticed some websites offering unlock codes. so i guess this device can be unlocked be typing a special code generated from its imei no.

okay, i just found a small howto to enter the unlock code.

here's the guide to get to the secret menu to enter unlock code. i followed this and reached there, 10 tries left

Blackberry, Model : all
Guide: With an accepted sim card using the menu go to Settings Menu -> Sim card pressselect, while holding the Shift key, type mepd. You should now see the five locking categories listed, while holding the Shift key, type mep2. Release the shift key. You are now prompted to enter the Network MEP code. Enter the code, enter Return/Enter, the device should then be unlocked.

now all i need is the network MEP code. i guess this is generated from the IMEI no of this device.

so here are my device's info:
- model: BlackBerry 6280
- imei: 010226000647445
- network: AT&T Wireless - USA

i also found a 5$ unlocking service, but i don't have CC to pay online

i hope someone will send me the unlock code.

WE can easily unlock all blackberry handsets and change all given codes.

Some years ago I called the operator for the unlock code and after talking to different people I got it.

However I tried the same last week for a friend and I couldn't make it, so which site did you get the code?

I will most probably use Blackberry unlock it seems simple and easy to use.
