bbm adroid iphone

This is the news you’ve been waiting for! I am thrilled to tell you that we are about to officially resume our rollout of BBM for Android and iPhone customers around the globe! In the next few hours, people will start seeing BBM in Google Play, the App Store and in select Samsung App Stores – where it will be free to download.

how to download :

  1. Download BBM – the easiest way is to visit BBM.com from your Android or iPhone browser*
  2. Once you install the app, open it, and enter your email address to hold your spot in line
  3. We will email you as soon as you reach the front of the line and can start using BBM

To ensure that its servers can handle the influx of new users, BlackBerry has created a wait list for those interested in signing up for a BBM account. Individuals who registered on BlackBerry’s Web site earlier this month won’t be required to wait in line and can begin using the app immediately.

fortunately, CNET writers reported that The company’s wait list can actually be bypassed after downloading the app on either your Android or iOS device. Open the app, enter your e-mail address, click Next, and then force-close it.

This can be done on iOS by double-clicking the home button and swiping the app away. On Android, enter the multitasking menu and swipe the app away, or go to Settings, Apps, BBM, and click Force Close. After relaunching the app you should have the power to create an account, which will assign you a unique PIN, and to begin inviting friends.

It should be noted that while this method worked for some CNET writers, BlackBerry could fix the workaround at any time.

According to a report from Mashable, BlackBerry was purchased by a financial holdings firm for $4.7 billion. The deal was announced on Monday by both the struggling mobile company and the Toronto-based Fairfax Financial Holdings.

BlackBerry was worth over $100 billion dollars back in 2007. BlackBerry reportedly lost about $1 billion in the second quarter of 2013 and as cutting 4,500 jobs — about 35% of its workforce. The holdings group acquired BlackBerry for only $9 per share.

BBM for Android and iOS are on hold (again)

BlackBerry has finally given a statement on the status of the BBM rollout for users on Android and iOS, and it looks like things are on hold for the time being. BlackBerry is saying the leaked versions people were using have caused “issues” and that they are hard at work to get things back on track.

Prior to launching BBM for Android, an unreleased version of the BBM for Android app was posted online. The interest and enthusiasm we have seen already – more than 1.1 million active users in the first 8 hours without even launching the official Android app – is incredible. Consequently, this unreleased version caused issues, which we have attempted to address throughout the day.

Our teams continue to work around the clock to bring BBM to Android and iPhone, but only when it’s ready and we know it will live up to your expectations of BBM. We are pausing the global roll-out of BBM for Android and iPhone. Customers who have already downloaded BBM for iPhone will be able to continue to use BBM. The unreleased Android app will be disabled, and customers who downloaded it should visit www.BBM.com to register for updates on official BBM for Android availability.

As soon as we are able, we will begin a staggered country roll-out of BBM for Android and continue the roll-out of BBM for iPhone. Please follow @BBM on Twitter for the latest updates and go to www.BBM.com to sign-up for updates about BBM for Android and iPhone. These issues have not impacted BBM service for BlackBerry.

ouchh…… what issues can a leaked app cause?

should i get Windows Phone ?

Windows Phone

Windows Phones come in a variety of screen sizes and price points, and all run Microsoft’s elegant Metro (sticking with it!) interface and experience. The biggest reason to go with Windows Phone – literally – is the amazing camera available on the Lumia 1020. It’s almost like they grafted a dedicated point-and-shoot onto the body of a phone. It’s also got a big screen and some of the best build quality in the business.

In my eyes, this Windows Phone is less of a smartphone and more of a dumbphone that can surf the web, send emails, and navigate you around town, without all the apps and other stuff you’ve come to expect. For some people, that’s fine—in fact, it’s exactly what they need. I’d recommend this to my less tech-obsessed friends that aren’t locked into certain apps, or just want a phone that works. If you want something simple and distraction-free, Windows Phone has potential, but if you like Android and iOS, it’s going to be difficult to switch. Not impossible by any means, but difficult.
