Simon Tofield's animations have taken YouTube by storm. Now, the feline Internet phenomenon makes his way onto the page in this first-ever book based on the popular animated series. SIMON'S CAT depicts and exaggerates the hilarious relationship between a man and his cat. The daily escapades of this adorable pet, which always involve demanding more food, and his exasperated but doting owner come to life through Tofield's charming and hilarious illustrations.

Customer Rating: Summary: To funny to be true Comment: I have only been able to get half way through the book, as i spend so much time dying of laughter the illustrations are so great, nice line work, great expression on the characters each story feels like an animated short, the jokes and situations are very clever, and entertaining i can not say enough about this book, i hope there is a volume 2 coming out in the near future, a must have for all
thank you Mr Tofield
Customer Rating: Summary: Simon's cat book Comment: I really enjoyed. I can't stop laughing. In some situations Simon's cat reminds me to my 4 cats. Nice job!.
A nice book for any cat lover.
Customer Rating: Summary: A cute book Comment: I've always loved the "Simon's Cat" videos on YouTube, so when I found out that Simon had published a book, buying it was a no-brainer. I enjoyed the book, although I think a lot of the humor from the videos didn't translate well to print. I think that the reason for that has to do with the humor from the videos being based much more on "real life". Even when the cat does things that aren't possible for a real cat to do (wield a baseball bat, point at his mouth), it's still cat-like, because you know that if a real cat could, he would -- they were anthropomorphic versions of real cat behavior. Besides which, those sorts of things were a minimum in the videos -- most of the time, the cat was doing things like meowing to get his owner's attention, rubbing up against his owner, crouching to spring at a fly (while making that hunting "chittering" noise cats make) -- in other words, real cat behavior.
I'd say probably 3/4 of the book is non-cat behavior. Nor is it anthropomorphic versions of real cat behavior -- the cat does everything from befriend a garden gnome to tease a hedgehog by sticking leaves on its spines.
Still, even despite that, I'd still give the book four out of five stars. Even if something was lost in "translation", it still was an amusing book, and worth a read or two. The borderless cartoons and lack of captions (or any sort of text) let it flow in a way I found attractive and refreshing. And even if Simon's cat's shenanigans weren't cat-like, they were at least still funny.
Customer Rating: Summary: We love Simon and his Cat! Comment: My husband recently introduced me to Simon's cat on Youtube. I immediately watched all the videos and wanted more. He told me there was a book and I hunted it down. I read the reviews and that some people said it lost some charm without the animation and sound, and that is true in some of the cases, but I still love Simon's cat and am thoroughly pleased with my purchase of this book. I hope that we will be seeing more of this little rascal and his adventures, whether they are animated or not.
Customer Rating: Summary: Pure Genius Comment: This man is an utter genius. All the short cartoons nail my cats down to a tee. Love the book and so does the family. Always looking for more of his stuff and can't wait for what comes next.
