Customer Rating: Summary: Not a bad refernce book to have for new moms Comment: Give you some general idea about things your baby needs and things you can do. I wouldn't take every word seriously, as many suggestions in the book differ from my other research and decisions (like when you start solids for a breast fed baby), but it's a good starting point.
Customer Rating: Summary: Provides sound advice to the new parents Comment: Gifted to family members who live in France and were desperate for English pregnancy/newborn/nursing books. Their feedback as been very positive including a number of other books I sent them :What to Expect When You're Expecting, Third Edition;Baby 411, 4th Edition: Clear Answers & Smart Advice For Your Baby's First Year; Toddler 411: Clear Answers & Smart Advice for Your Toddler, 2nd Edition];[[ASIN:155832304X The Nursing Mother's Companion: Revised Edition;25 Things Every Nursing Mother Needs to Know
Customer Rating: Summary: New Parent must read. Comment: Overall a sound book with lots of useful information. The only downside is there is no competition for it which means the book may not have any significant changes to future additions.
Customer Rating: Summary: What to Expect.............. Comment: Excellent resource. Always answers all of my questions and information is organized for easy reference.
Customer Rating: Summary: The only parenting book I've actually used Comment: I'm a dad and we've purchased various baby/parenting books, but this is by far the best.
Pros:
- the layout is excellent, I can easily find what I'm looking for without having to read through large sections.
- our daughter is 11 months now and the book has covered (with very few exceptions) everything we've had questions on.
Con:
- as any new parent has discovered, parenting is like politics, everyone has their own position. While this book overall does a good job of fairly presenting all positions, there are some areas where the authors' personal opinions slant the presentation. Just something to be aware of.
