Customer Rating: Summary: Children Love It Comment: I am not happy that this magazine began in late October after I was told that the first issue would not arrive until near Christmas. That being said, my nephew and his family love receiving this magazine. It is Nov. 22 and they have already received 2 issues of what was supposed to be a Christmas present! My nephew is 7 and in first grade. His parents find that the magazine is great for discussions, especially at dinner, and that he has begun being interested in different countries and people than his friends, neighbors and relatives. It's a great magazine for both kids and parents. It has something new and interesting for everyone.
Customer Rating: Summary: Takes Forever to Ship Comment: Plan on about 6 months or more to get your first issue. Ordered for a child's B-day 2 months ahead of birthday and now three months later, is supposed to arrive next month.
Customer Rating: Summary: It's better now Comment: The older reviews for this magazine claim that there is too much advertising, but looking at a recent issue (2009), there is very little advertising (one on the back page and a sidebar for a book near the back. The pictures are large, the text interesting, and the games look fun. I think this magazine is back on track.
Customer Rating: Summary: National Geographic should be embarrassed. Comment: There are interesting articles in this magazine. However, every fun fact is sandwiched between ads for junk food, movies, or video games. This magazine is one long advertisement. I'm surprised that a magazine/organization like National Geographic would want to be associated with content like this. Instead of this, I'd recommend Ranger Rick, American Girl, or any of the long list of publications from Carus (Appleseeds, Cricket, etc.).
Customer Rating: Summary: im still waiting for my first issue Comment: i cant review it cause im still waiting to see my first issue. I had already forgot about it.
