Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Visual And Gameplay-Wise, This Game Is Just Awesome. Comment: As soon as I started playing this game, I didn't want to put it down. There is never a dull moment. The graphics are gorgeous, I still awe at them every time I play it. This is definitely the greatest looking game the Gamecube has to offer. Okay being the Mario fan that I am, I would have to say this is tied for best Mario game ever made (My personal opinion, next to Super Mario World.) If you haven't played it yet or are really skeptical about playing it, just play it. There's a pretty good chance you'll really like it. Okay, not much change in story here, except the game takes place on Isle Delfino, a luscious, tropical paradise. The scenery alone is what got me hooked to this game, other than it being the next 3D Mario game being released and needing to play it. As I progressed through the game, I kept wanting to see more of it. The gameplay is just like Super Mario 64, just with your handy water-pack, F.L.U.D.D. The game also has new, tricky spot for you to maneuver through that had not been seen in Super Mario 64. All in all, this is a game for any Mario fan and it should not, I repeat, NOT, be overlooked at all. It's an adventure that you won't forget. Customer Rating: Summary: Eh. Comment: I liked the game at first. It was fun, challenging, etc. All that was gone when I came upon the jump quests. They're not technically called that, I just call them that because they're the parts where you have to jump and jump through a map until you reach the end, to get a star. For God's sake...I found this part extremely frustrating that I just quit. I can't say how many times I've tried, 10, 20 times? Yes, I suck at them. Yes, it's my fault. But let me warn you, it's not my fault that the game isn't very sensitive to my stops. There isn't a time where I can just stop moving without it moving a bit too farther than I expected it. This was the most frustrating thing about this game. It's too bad, I liked it until I got to the jumping parts. Oh well. Customer Rating: Summary: Super Mario Sunshine! Customer Rating: Summary: One of Mario's greatest games Comment: Super Mario Sunshine is one of Gamecube's top 3 games. The graphics are very good quality for Gamecube, since Mario is on a tropical island, you can see heat waves. There are 6 courses in the game, they have good variety. Each course contains 11 Shine Sprites for Mario to collect, plus there are a lot of secrets. This game will definitely be worth replaying. The best part though, is the controls. I have never played a game with better controls than Super Mario Sunshine. There are a ton of moves for Mario to do, and he responds to the controls perfectly. This game takes Super Mario 64 and evolves and adds to it. Sunshine sets a new standard for 3D Mario games. It has a balance of Classic Mario and new innovations. I rate this game a score of 98.5/100. A near perfect game, although not quite up to Super Mario 64 and Galaxy, which were absolutely perfect. Customer Rating: Summary: Super Mario returns!! Comment: Super mario sunshine is very enteresting but when u beat it it is not as fun. Yes u can go back and replay the missions but it is not as fun. The purpose of this game is to clear all of the goo off the island and then beat the boss of each level and the more levels u beat the brighter the sky gets. as soon as u beat it the sky is the brightest it gets. This game is very fun but the replay value is not very good. It is not multiplayer either. The controls r good but the water is sometimes hard to use. I like super mario 64 better because it has more places to go to and more things to do after u beat it but these two games r very similar becides the water squirter. The graphics r very good for an old gc game. There is no blockiness it is all curved. Anyway this to me was like the next super mario 64 but for the gc and super mario 64 was my favorite game.
