Comment: I ordered this magazine as a Christmas present for a child in my family, but I have not heard whether it has started yet. My children and grandchildren used to get this magazine and loved it.

Summary: Best Kids' Magazine out there!
Comment: We started getting this magazine for my son when he was maybe six years old...saw it at a National Park museum magazine and other literature display and he HAD to have it....from then on, after we subscribed to it, it was by far his favorite magazine for many many years.
He's both gone to college and graduated...and won't let me give these magazines to anyone else in the family! In fact they're packed up "for him" for when he has a home of his own....No other magazine compared to that with him, and only a few books.
As others have said, lovely photography, good solid information that does not talk down to the kids and enough in each issue to start a real interest in the natural sciences. Its educational but not dull or boring.
To clarify: the animals are NOT just zoo animals, all sorts including extinct ones were covered thoroughly in the issues we received.

Summary: Great gift idea!
Comment: When my children were young, I subscribed to "Zoobooks", and my children loved them. The magazine is so informative and full of interesting facts and great diagrams and pictures. I purchased a subscription to "Zoobooks" for my daughter, now a second grade teacher. She shares the copies with her students, and they love them. This magazine would make a great gift for a grandchild or elementary teacher.

Summary: Oh, yes, they're very colorful, when they actually send them.
Comment: We ordered Zoobooks last Summer and I can't remember when we last saw one. I know that a few issues were sent, but one day I realized that there hadn't been one in a few months, and there hasn't been one since that realization. The few we got were thin but were indeed packed with colorful pictures. However, the money spent on the subscription, even had it been fulfilled, would be better spent on a quality full-color books about animals, with more information and sturdier binding. If Zoobooks put together a bound edition just such as that, well, as it happens, I still wouldn't buy it. I no longer have any faith in their business.

Comment: A subscription is two dollars cheaper at the Zoobooks site. It also includes a free poster and stickers. Just so you know.
