Customer Rating: Summary: X-2 Makes An Amazing Sequel To X Comment: I finished FFX about 8 months ago, and as soon as I was done I had to play X-2. FFX was the first Final Fantasy game I ever played, and so far the only, not counting X-2 which I am very close to being done with. Here's what I think of X-2:
The game is great, it has a complicated, amazing plot, but for me, after X the battle system confused me. It's not bad, I just prefer X's battle system. However, after a little while I got used to it, and started to enjoy it. The dresspheres allow you to decide what abilities you want Yuna, Rikku and Paine to have, and the great part is-- the girls share the dresspheres, allowing you to decide who you want to do what. Also, the girls have special dresspehres which are very powerful which only they can use-- Yuna's dressphere is only accessible by Yuna, etc.
The story is the best part of this game. Although Tidus isn't actually in the game, he is mentioned many times, and sometimes Yuna will to talk to him in her thoughts, reminiscing about various memories she shared with Tidus, or telling him things in her life currently. There are many moments where I found myself sobbing, because it was so sad and seemed so real. Although I haven't finished the game, I know the various endings and they are all amazing, but I can't give that away...
For X-2 you follow Mission's, requiring you to do a certain thing. You can find movie spheres all over Spira, which show clips of various things that happened. You can even view the sphere that led to Yuna's decision to be a sphere hunter..
One of the best parts of the game is the fact that YOU control the story. Sure, there's a basic story that you follow, but there are also different paths you can take. The New Game Plus allows you to play the game over again, your characters levels going back to how they started, but you can keep all your items, gil, speheres, and what's even better-- your completion points. In order to obtain the 'Perfect Ending' you must get a 100% completion. Which means when you have an option to do a mini-game or not, do it. There are three endings I believe, based on what you do in the game and what you choose at the end of the game. Getting 100% completion might be difficult without the official Strategy Guide, so if you really want 100% completion, it might be wise to be the book.
If you loved Final Fantasy X, this is the perfect sequel to finish up Yuna's story. Although make sure you've played X before you play X-2-- X-2 is a sequel, continuing X's story. If you haven't played X it will be very confusing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not for me Comment: I liked playing Final Fantasy x much more then this one. This is more real time play and I just didn't like being attacked while I had to sit there trying to figure out which attack to use back. For Final Fantasy players this game is probably great but not for me. I discontinued playing after only one week.
Customer Rating: Summary: Plenty Fun Comment: Overall a pretty good game. A couple of spots, mainly the concerts, are a little on the cheesy side, but other than that, the game is pretty good. A good story line, a lot of action, and a good gameplay.
Customer Rating: Summary: It's entertaining Comment: Well it's definitely not FFX, but it's entertaining to say the least. The battles in this one are not nearly as tough as FFX, but it's fun to play. I beat the game in a week, and it's so so.
There's lots of different things about the game, but most of all, they change clothes...a lot...It seems a little stereotypical that girls change clothes...and that's how they do battle. It's just a little blase for me...
The story is good, but not nearly as enthralling as FFX. It's a little anti-climactic for an ending, and the end boss is not hard to fight AT ALL! I never had to re-do a game. I beat the storyline bosses without a problem.
Overall a good play, but if you're looking for something deep, this is not it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Okay, but I've played better. Comment: This was my second final fantasy game that I have played. My first was FF Tactics Advanced, which i would reccomend alot more than this game. The storyline can get overly confusing, and the battles just don't feel right. I would reccomend it to some, but not too all.
