Customer Rating: Summary: Gamestop SUCKS... but usually the magazine isn't half bad.... Comment: yeah, we all hate gamestop.. but fair is fair, and this magazine is usually pretty good... just make sure you hate gamestop in the back of your mind....
decent....
Customer Rating: Summary: GameInformer Comment: i only have a few things to say just to keep this short and sweat...since most was already tackled and addressed. i like this magazine alot because it hits everything on every console point blank! but at the same time i wouldn't suggest anyone to purchase the magazine subscription off amazon when you can get a free 12 month subscription at any game stop..just a little fyi, no i dont work at game stop and i wouldn't even encourage people to go there either but nevertheless this is a free 12 month subscription they give to customers
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Gamming Information Comment: I originaly signed up for a subscription almost a year ago. It was at Gamestop, and I was purchasing a lot of games, so I bought an Edge card. The subscription came with the card, and if it weren't for that, I wouldn't be getting it. I am not a great fan of the gamming magazines that talk about more than PC games, but this really is a exception. I started looking through my first issues, expecting to find more and more adds, but instead, I found genuine game reviews, some even demoting new-releases. It even tells information from in the game production community, from the plans for the next great expansion pack, all the way to why EA got sued by its own employees. And to top it all off, it also features fun and entertaining information, as well as great artwork. Ever time I get an issue, I read it from cover-tocover, hardly skipping a paragraph. I was so amazed with it that i'm now going to start a collection of them, just for reading again.
Customer Rating: Summary: Your EGM Fix Comment: Back in February I had to do a little bit of research to see why I had not received the last two months of my Electric Gaming Monthly (EGM) subscription only to find out that EGM had ceased magazing operations and went fully digital to focus on their 1up.com website (which, by the way, is quite good). Desperately needing a gaming magazine fix, I knew not to turn to GamePro (aimed at the younger crowd), but didn't know where else to turn. Enter GameInformer.
This mag is great. It's so full of information the script/font size on each page can be a tad on the small size; but you get used to it quickly. From previews, interviews with top executives in the industry, rumors, retro gaming, to reviews (by two individuals); ex-EGM readers will feel right at home.
GameInformer covers all platforms and games headlined in great detail. Cover stories aren't your three or four page outline. Cover stories range from 10 to 15 pages and gives you so much detailed information and in depth coverage on the game(s) it is covering. Beautiful game shots cover nearly every page to background every topic.
The mag is well written with great detail, information, well humored, and covers all platforms (PC, Ps2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox360, DS, PSP, et all) while written for the older gamer (25+). If you want a gaming mag to fill your gaming fix, this should be your choice. This is a great magazine, but I will always miss EGM.
Customer Rating: Summary: An awesome magazine Comment: This is one of my favorite gaming magazines. I tried the off. Xbox magazine and just could not warm up to it. Game informer has good reviews (a little biased perhaps) and some great articles. I have never found their info to be faulty.
