Editorial Reviews:

This 5" diameter x 2" thick baby drum has a rainbow-colored shell with two fixed (pretuned) heads. It comes with a 5.5" long chunky mallet (colorful foam head on a plastic handle). One of a series of instruments developed in conjunction with Lynn Kleiner for early childhood use. For infants and older. (Remember, since the drumhead is not tunable each drum will have a unique pitch.)

Summary: Small with a great sound
Comment: I didn't realized from the picture just how small this drum is. However, despite it's size it sounds great. My nine month old son loves to bang on his drum with the easy to hold drum stick....when he's not chewing it that it....LOL.
Cute, colorful and sounds great even though it's tiny.

Summary: Great first drum!
Comment: Good amount of "drum" noice, but not too loud! Mallet is big enough that I dont' worry about my daughter choking on it. Great product for a toddler!

Summary: My son's favorite toy
Comment: After noticing my son's tendency to ignore fancier, flashier toys in favor of just whacking on things, I thought a drum would be just the thing to keep him entertained. This is the real deal; a real wooden frame with a real leather skin stretched across it, that produces real drum sounds! Unlike the glut of cheap plastic toys that require batteries to make noise, this is a simple, straight forward drum that my son absolutely loves. It's quite a bit smaller than you'd think based on the picture, but that's a minor complaint at best.

I can't recommend this strongly enough, both as a great toy and a child's first musical instrument.

Summary: Durable and Fun
Comment: I got this for my younger niece on her first birthday because I'd gotten the older one bongos for her first birthday and it was a hit. My older niece also kept wanting a turn with it. They love having a handle to carry it around too.

Summary: Great little drum
Comment: I bought this little drum for my 9 mo old for Yule to match his older (2yr old) brother's Remo Lollipop drum and he figured out how to use it right away. He loves copying his older brother and drumming something they could both do together. THe look of delight on his face when he hit that drum was priceless, at almost 2 now, he still plays it today.
