Customer Rating: Summary: Great 12 volt Drill/Driver Comment: I have always preferred the Dewalt cordless drills for their fit and finish, although the larger, more powerful ones (such as the 18 volt XRP series) tend to be quite expensive. I currently own a Ryobi 18 volt drill, but while quite nice and powerful, it is also very large and heavy. I decided to buy a 12 volt drill for less intensive tasks, for its light weight and portability. My other criteria included two speeds (for both drilling and screwdriving) and a hard fitted case. This Dewalt fit the bill perfectly, and the price was very reasonable. I have been using it for a couple weeks and I find that I use it nearly exclusively.

Customer Rating: Summary: Can't Beat DeWalt Cordless Tools Comment: DeWalt sets the standard for construction tools. This 12v has the power of other's 18v, yet it is very light and easy to use for hours. I've been drywalling ceilings and walls each Saturday since I bought this and am very pleased that it is such a workhorse while holding a lengthy charge. Tom V.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great buy Comment: Needed new 12v batteries for my 10 yr old DeWalt drill. Batteries alone cost approx $50 each. I was able to pick up this new drill with 2 batteries and shipping for $80. Now I have two drills I can use while working on home projects. Perfect. I do like the improvement to the keyless chuck. The new drill has slightly higher RPM. I also like the compact size over my old DeWalt. However, the CW/CCW toggle switch has been cheapened-up. You have to slide it fully one way and it has to sit flush to the body of the drill to engage it. Bad if you have larger fingers. Can't be the price for the week-ender DIY type of person.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best Product for the Price Comment: The 12 volt drill from Dewalt is the best! WE bought this as a replacement for one just like it. After 3 or 4 years of heavy duty use in the construction industry, the batteries needed replacing, and it was a better value to just buy a new one and have the old one on hand just in case. Love!
