Customer Rating: Summary: Mitt Misfit Comment: I just received this handle mitt as part of a three part set, cast iron waffle maker, mitt, and cleaning brush. I am not displeased with either item except that the mitt does not fit over the double handles of the waffle iron. It it impossible to use it to flip the waffle iron over as the handles are extemely hot during cooking. I feel it was not thought out or planned properly when this three part set was organized. It's really handy to slip on the handle of a pot or pan when you don't have time to use a mitt. It stays in place, unlike a square potholder. Very handy item! I highly reccommend it. I assumed it was a full mitt to cover the hand when handling the hot grill. It is a silly little thing that covers the handle of a skillet. Perhaps I didn't read the description well enough. Customer Rating: Summary: great for porcelain enameled cast iron cookware Comment: I use this in conjunction with my porcelain enameled cast iron cookware and it works very well. This handle holder by Lodge Max always keeps the handles of my cookware at a proper temp. I have even left them on throughout cooking and they have never gotten too hot. They're also washing machine safe (just wash with like colors on a delicate setting). I also like this very much because it looks contemporary in the fashionable black as it matches my kitchen (my only complaint is that the color is starting to fade). It's a great cost effective solution to an otherwise difficult or dangerous chore. Here's a quick tip: to get the same results with stainless steal cookware, simply stuff the hollowed handles with aluminum foil (this diverts the heat off of the handles).
