Editorial Reviews:

Incredibly smart missile technology. Combined with Blast Pad missiles, the moon is now in reach! The launch tube extends to almost 3 feet and the flex tube won't kink to restrict airflow. Thoughtfully designed to only blast in the vertical position (9 degrees either way). All the parts store neatly into the base so it travels great with no extra parts to lose.

Summary: The biggest kid magnet around!
Comment: We absolutely love the Marky Sparky Blast Pad. My twins were 4 years old when we were looking for a "rocket." I bought this by accident off of the internet and it was so so easy for them to use. Just a little step on it would send the rocket over their heads. I really like how it worked on their coordination. As they've gotten older, we take it to the park and have no less than 20 kids jumping on it within a ten minute time frame. They never get tired of it. We've since moved and the kids on our block love it just as much. I've bought it as a birthday gift for friends and they can't stop raving about it. The twins are turning 6 soon and it is still in great shape. We just needed new rockets.

What I love about this is the safety feature. If you tilt the launcher to try to "hit" someone, there is a hole that appears at the base to allow the air to escape before going to the rocket. So the rocket dies or doesn't go anywhere. So I feel pretty safe when the kids have it in the street that no one will get one in the face.

It is definitely a hit with our friends and family. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Summary: a great toy
Comment: My four year old loves this blast pad. The rockets have great vertical height and it's very compact when folded down. I don't think you would regret the purchase.

Summary: Still going strong after almost 2 summers of continual wear
Comment: We actually received the Blast Pad as a gift and I was sceptical how much it would be used. It is easy enough my 3 year old can get it out, set it up and play with it without help. My 6 year old and 3 year old both are always dragging it out and in because it is very easy to use and clean up. All the part when stored snap into the base which means not alot of space is needed either. The rockets feel like they are made out of a very thick card board and foam. There is no fear if somebody gets hit with it when coming back down it is very light. We have had this out at every birthday party and family get together and all the kids want to see who can get it highest. My sister liked it so much she bought it for her 4 year old nephew and he loves it. I plan on buying one for my 2 nieces birthday.

Summary: Good investment
Comment: I got this for my 4 year old grandson. We gave it to him in the park and within ten minutes of playing with it with his brother the other kids started gravitating over and soon there was a crowd. There were lots of trees but the rockets so far have gone right through the branches without getting hung up. I was disappointed that more rockets didn't come with the free shipping but now I'm glad I didn't get more because they haven't gotten hung up or lost at all. The only thing disappointing is they didn't ship it for a week after I ordered it so I missed giving it to him on his birthday.

Summary: Clever - but total garbage
Comment: I was going to get a water powered rocket for my son who's really into rockets right now, but not really old enough for the "real thing."

[...]I bought the item, expecting it to be great.

Boy was I misled.

I would have scored the item a "1" but it gets a "2" for being clever.

The concept is great. It's a simple, air powered "rocket" and so easy to set up and use, anyone can have fun with it. And it is fun. For about 10 minutes.

But the device is so poorly made! After only a few stomps on the air bladder, the launcher fell apart. I have to keep putting it back together. I'm going to need duct tape very shortly with this plastic junk.

And it also was designed to prevent any off angle firing, more than a few degrees in each direction (otherwise a hole is exposed in the launch tube allowing the air pressure to bleed off). So after shooting a rocket straight up into the air a few times, the natural tendency is to try to send the rocket somewhere, perhaps aiming at a target like a canon. But you can't unless you tip up the entire plastic housing.
