Customer Rating: Summary: good deal for beginners Comment: I just started riding a bike again this summer. With winter setting in I was really missing it so a friend suggested I get a trainer. I did a lot of research on line and this one seemed like a great option - price was right, no assembly, minimal hassle hooking up the bike, works with my mountain bike and thus far it has worked out great. No bells, no whistles, have to use gears on bike for more resistance, but it was also a minimal investment. I recommend it for anyone's first indoor trainer.
Customer Rating: Summary: Bicycle Trainer Comment: This trainer has worked out great. My husband has been biking in front of the tv, which I know he would not be doing without the trainer. It is a little loud, but not too bad. It is very strong and sturdy. My husband is about 6'2" tall and about 280 pounds. Holds him up and works great. It was a great price as well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good inexpensive trainer Comment: Despite reading other amazon reviews that said this trainer was noisy, I decided to purchase it because it was inexpensive. I've got a road bike with fairly smooth tires on it, but for me noise is not a problem with it. Setup is very easy, though the spare axle provided with the unit is not needed and they don't really tell you this. I've used it twice for ~45 minutes and had no issues. It does pick the rear wheel up maybe 4 or 5 inches, so I'd definitely recommend getting a riser block for the front wheel, otherwise you'll be in a rather awkward position.
Build quality seems pretty good, it feels good and solid and the bike doesn't rock around in it at all. Machining on the flywheel and the roller looks excellent. An all around good purchase.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not Noisy! Comment: I have been using by Bell Motivator for about a month now and while it does produce a bit of noise, the cause is the rear bike tire tread NOT the trainer. My tire tread is fairly smooth and hence, little noise. A mountain bike tread would produce a lot of noise. If it really bothers you, buy a tread-less rear tire to reduce the noise level when your bike is used as a trainer.
The wheel at the back of the trainer provides adjustable resistance level and I must say that a 20-minute workout with this trainer, makes me sweat as much as my normal 45 minute outdoor workout! I'd recommend this trainer to anyone who wants to keep up their biking routine, during the cold, rainy and snowy days of fall and winter (at least here in the NorthEast!)
Customer Rating: Summary: Great $$ Saver Comment: Quick turnaround time. Easy to set up, sturdy, heavy duty, just what I was looking for. Works great. Others claimed it to be noisy, but I didn't find it so.
