They don't give off enough light to illuminate your entire neighborhood, but rather just enough to light your area. They were also easy to install. The mounting clips that this set came with are different than that of conventional rope lights and can be a bit more difficult to install if you are using a drill. Otherwise these were a breeze to hang. They came coiled up, but unraveled and straightened with little effort. I will definitely buy this brand next time we need a set.
