Summary: Had the worst experience with this headphones(sony ericsson stereo portable handsfree HPM-70)
Comment: Hi,
I purchased this headphones a while ago. After using for three days i did not hear any sound from the headphones.so,i complained about this to the customer care services.According to my wish they replaced it with a new one.I felt happy after getting that,But the same problem and experience i faced with the new headphones too.I recommend not to purchase this headphones no more. This is my worst experience i had ever.I don't want to complain about this and blame the manufacturer.
Thank you.

Summary: Impressive, except...
Comment: I ordered these on Oct. 31 and got them in the mail yesterday. They look a bit more plasticy and a lighter gray than in the picture, but it IS the same product and IS from Sony Ericsson.
I saw comments that the volume seems too low. For me, it is quite adequate. If im listening to a song on my phone, having the volume at 50 or 60% of the max volume is great if im in a quiet environment. Having the volume at lets say 80% started to feel uncomfortable for my ears. Maybe 70% would be needed if I was on a bus or something...but I cant imagine feeling that the volume is "too soft" if I went to 100%. No. Also, it has noticeable bass (but not extreme)...so, hopefully, you like a bit of bass. There are no volume settings on the cord. You get the (SUPER-comfy, STABLE/not falling out, fully insertable, which is hard to find for my small 2-inch ears) thin rubber removable ear pieces (comes in 3 sizes. The regular size did fit me, but the smaller size was even better, so thats the one I use), the detachable .3mm(or whatever its called) prong for using with a regular/circular headset port like whats on a computer, then below that detachable section, is the mic and a small silver button which answers or hangs up calls by one press. When Im playing music, the button does not change to controlling MP3s, it stays with its original function (which is fine..because that way I dont have to memorize what actions it will perform based on what im doing with my phone). So, if i am not on a call and I simply press the silver button, my phone displays a message asking me to say a name/voice command.
The cord is about 5 feet long. I didnt find that to be abnormally long, especially since several inches of it doesnt really count since it will be around the backside of your neck then up to your ears. But, for a neater look, I do wrap some of the cord and tie a rubber band around it. I prefer too long versus too short.
As far as sound quality: Excellent (clear, loud, no buzzing or if so, very light). I called an automated system and when it said say English, I said English without lifting the mic to my mouth, and the system understood me. So, it seems that its fine with outgoing sound too.
I have the original earpiece that came with my S500i, but like with most earpieces, it constantly fell out of my ear since it was too wide to actually "fit". So, im happy to have these...such great quality, comfort, and at a great price. *Very comfortable/soft, although, I'd never "forget" that I have them in my ears. They are pretty snug, after all.*
About noise-blocking: It seems this is due to the materials/craftsmanship more than any unseen technology, since the noise reduction is there even if my phone is not being used and the earpieces are just sitting in my ears. What im saying is, its about the rubber sealing the ear canal. I dont feel its a huge danger for driving, since it lowers outside sounds by about 30%, not 80% or something (when the sound is off/no music). And since most dangers can be avoided my using SIGHT and responding appropriately in a measured/non-erratic fashion. But it is best to have all of your senses at 100%, yes. Oh, I also liked how, when I had a song playing at about 70% volume, then held the pieces in my hands and covered the speaker part with the tip of my finger, the sound of the song went away almost completely. I wanted to test that so that I could know if songs or phone calls would easily be heard by people around me.
Anyway, buy these! ;)

UPDATE: One negative thing about this headset is that the 3.5mm part isnt very logical. Its a good idea, but upon seperating the mic section of the cord from the 3.5mm section, I found that the cord was way too short (about 8 inches long). When in my ears, I need have my face no farther than about 5 inches from my laptop in order for the 3.5mm to reach the hole in my laptop! Uncomfortable. No huge problem...I can just order an extension cord for it which shouldnt be more than $4 including shipping. But, it is still slightly disappointing. So...now 4 stars instead of 5.

Summary: must have accesory for your Sony Ericsson cell phone
Comment: These headphones come are a great addition to your Sony Ericsson cell phone. The sound qualitly is pretty good, but the different length headphones realy gets annoying. These to have a clip so you can succure the headphones to your shirt or what ever. Another great feature is you can use any set of headphones with them or a headphone jack addaptor to play on your car sterio ( That is what I do while driving around town). This product is very universal and you can even use the radio feture on most Sony Ericsson phones too. I always cary these headphone with me so I can listen to the music on my phone any were I go.

Summary: Does the job
Comment: This is an OEM part and is cheap. The audio quality is good. I like it better than any blue tooth headset out there bcos it isolates outside road noise pretty well when i'm driving. The microphone is also very good ---- my callers say the clarity is good. It can double as ear buds for an MP3 player. The only drawback I see is the cord is way to short to connect to an audio jack of other devices. To connect to the sony phone - its nice and long bcos they give u an extension which has a phone specific adaptor at the other end. Like another reviewer mentioned they give u three pairs of ear buds each of a different size so that they fit better.

On the whole decent buy. Good for hand's free driving specially.
