The KeenĀ® Targhee II is 4-wheel drive for your feet reinvented with an eVENT waterproof barrier to keep your feet dry and even more comfortable. The aggressive outsole has 4-mm lugs to deliver extra bite into any terrain for excellent traction. An ESS Shank provides torsional stability for a secure ride, while a metatomical tri-density footbed and a dual-density, compression-molded EVA midsole enhance cushioning.

Customer Rating: Summary: Great Shoes...Everything Keen Promises Comment: I purchased these (in black) for my husband for Christmas. Hands down his favorite present.
We had horrible snow this winter in the PNW and he opted for these over his regular snow shoes every time we went out. He never had a complaint of water seeping in, discomfort or anything.
Even on a recent ski trip, we had to dig our car out of nearly two feet of snow. He opted to keep these shoes on as he made his way around the car...forty minutes later dry as a bone inside.
I think his only complaint has come from a couple of day hikes we've taken and he's worn socks that are too thick...that's when his feet get a little hot and sweaty. However, so long as the right sock is paired with these shoes and you're not wading through a river, I'd be surprised to hear too many complaints.
Customer Rating: Summary: The Best! Comment: First of all, I'm a UPS driver, therefore excellent footwear is a must. After many failed attempts at finding some good shoes that will be durable, waterproof, and comfortable, I came across these shoes from Keen. They were tops in each of those categories.
It could be expected that most new shoes will need at least a minimal amount of time to "break them in." But these Keens felt like I had been wearing them forever on the first day! The waterproof protection on these shoes is great as well - I never hesitated at any puddle or stream of water.
I would highly recommend these shoes!
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Shoe - 2nd Purchase Comment: Fantastic shoe, this is the second pair i've purchased. Both purchases have been for trips to Europe which involved a lot of walking and standing time. My only complaint about the shoe is that it deals pretty poorly with wet stone surfaces (very slick). Which I think is a result of either the tread formation or the hardness of the sole (i'll take a hard sole and a the occasional slippery rock over a softer, less durable sole).
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for hiking or trailblazing Comment: These shoes are by far the best quality I've had, next to Merril, which I highly recommend. I go through many pairs of shoes per year as a public utility worker and walk an average of 5 to 15 miles per day. The leather has not broken in half a year since, although the tread is almost gone. I think the toe waterproofing material is wonderful, most wet grass will not penetrate my socks. Do not listen to the other dissatisfied bozo on here who expects to go to a waterpark with them. They are great, however I did need to also swap out the insoles with orthopedic gel arch supports. You can't go wrong for this price range!
Customer Rating: Summary: Not waterproof Comment: I've been wearing these boots in the snow and mud. The front ends (toe ends) of the shoes are wet inside after walking in the snow for several miles. I don't agree with the Keen website that says, "The shoe is revamped with the KEEN.DRY waterproof breathable membrane to keep your feet dry and comfortable" nor do I agree with the amazon.com description above that there is a "waterproof barrier". These boots are not waterproof. (My previous boots had Goretex lining and they were waterproof.)
I bought a bigger size than usual. From the Keen website: "As a general rule, go up 1/2 size from your standard shoe size then work from there..." My feet tend to be a bit wide, so I bought men's shoes. They fit well and are comfortable. I love the roomy toe area.
One other criticism is the laces come untied easily. I have to double-knot them (not unusual, but worth mentioning).
Although Keen offers a one year warranty on these boots and the lining is printed with "guaranteed waterproof", I contacted Keen and they were not very receptive to dealing with the problem. The boots today are still wet inside from two days ago. I regret buying these shoes.
