Customer Rating: Summary: Not worth the hassle . . . Comment: I bought this because for some reason our house is a Verizon wireless dead zone. We mounted it in 4 different locations in the house & with the antenna inside and out and at every single location the base unit flashed and said that the signal was too strong. Too strong? We have never gotten more than 1-2 bars in our house.
I boxed it up and am sending it back to Amazon. Decided to try the Verizon VOIP wireless extender instead because it looks to be no hassle compared to this unit.
Customer Rating: Summary: couldnt be more happy! Comment: it works perfectly for me .
I left the antenna at my keids room , inside my apt .
The booster , at my room ..
now I have signal all over the house .
Before , only in my kids room .
Very easy to inslall..
Customer Rating: Summary: A Must Have Comment: I work from home, but get horrible cell reception. I have tried to use my house phone, but some of my roommates are not always great to have answer the phone so I needed something. This worked great. It took about five minuets to set up and I got great cell reception right away. I can think of nothing wrong with this product other than I did not buy it sooner.
Customer Rating: Summary: life saver Comment: With a home-based office using my cell as the primary phone line, cell phone signal is an absolute must. The house has a tin roof, and my office is located in the corner exactly opposite of the 'good' signal side of the house, so it had been frustrating to say the least. Some days, I wouldn't have a problem, and some days were horrible with frequent dropped calls. Since I don't want to have to move my office permanently onto the porch, I decided to invest the money in the zBoost.
I wasn't sure how well it would work in my application, given the aforementioned tin roof, plus it's a single-level home. I couldn't mount the antenna very high because of the metal of the roof, and the metal in the columns of the porch, but I was able to mount it to the white vinyl railing of the porch on the south side of the house, and run the cable through the nearby side door. Horizontal separation is about 28', but vertical separation between the antenna and the base unit may only be 3' or so! Guess what... worked like a charm, right out of the box. Only real time involved was figuring out exactly where I wanted to permanently mount the base station and route the cable.
We've never had a good signal in the kitchen (opposite end of the house from the base station), and when out of the line of sight *at that distance*, the signal goes away, but this was expected given what I read from other reviews. If I didn't have a tin roof, or was otherwise able to mount things in different locations such that I could put the base station in a more central location, I could probably get more full coverage, but in the end I really got exactly what I expected out it, and consider it a great purchase.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works great but... not for me Comment: I've iPhone with very weak signal from AT&T here, in central Wisconsin.
This device still could work very well but I am surrounded by two phone towers
on my left and right: US Cell owns one and Alltel the second one. No AT&T around.
So, AT&T signal is still bad and this booster shows continuously two solid red lights;
it means that the signal is too strong. Two Towers, here we come but... unfortunately
the wrong companies.
