Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Intermatic ML300RTW Power Pack/Timer Comment: I purchased the Intermatic ML300RTW Maliabu 300 Power Pack w/Timer and groud a couple of days ago from Amazon. The first one shipped out did not work. It was(faulty)out of the box, thinking here we go! I made the return on the item the next day and was shipped a (new) one in a couple of days if that by Amazon. I have to say shipping is not an issue, it is fast. I did buy this particular power supply for the low cost and easy functions including installation. I had shopped all over including local dealers and could not find a better price for what I needed, installing landscape lighting. I also could have purchased a smaller wattage unit but made my decision on 300w was for future add on's if needed with no problem, such as dimming lights which is mentioned on a regular basis in other review installations. I did read all the reviews posted on Amazon before I made my purchase having to disagree with some of the other opinions on this particualr item, (small dial) for time setting and the (humming noise) which I would think this is some what normal to a degree, remember the cost. I would have to give this item a great value for the cost and if I get a few years of usage out of it, it is money worth spent. Customer Rating: Summary: Made a mistake Comment: Both my transformers went bad at the same time, due to a power surge - according to Malibu. I thought this would be a good alternative and cost less than buying two smaller transformers. This power pack is very noisy when it turns on, which one could overlook, if it did the job for which I bought it. It works fine with ONE set of six lights, but as soon as I connected the other string of six, only the very first light was bright, and the others were orange, and the second set would not give off any light at all. A BIG MISTAKE. It's unfortunate that we don't have more brands to choose from. Customer Rating: Summary: Works as advertized Comment: Having been installed for two weeks, the power pack has done an excellent job in lighting 5 50W spotlights on 2 lengths of cable totaling 100 feet. The timer has performed well - I do only use one on/off cycle per day. I had a slight problem connecting the cable to the power pack - either I lost the directions or they were never there. There are three connection points labeled A, B, and C. Luckily I had a voltmeter so saw that A & B were the proper connect points. I don't know what the intended use of C is. All 5 lights seem to have the same intensity, none of which is closer than 15 ft to the power pack. So far I'm completely satisfied with the unit and would buy another one if the need arises. Customer Rating: Summary: Let there be light Comment: We needed light around our house but every store we went to only had 100 watt transformers. We didn't want 2 or 3 of these plugged in on different sides of the house, so this seemed to be the right idea. One box many lights, and when you use LED landscape lights you can use even more lights. It works great because when it turns on, ALL lights come on, you don't have to wonder if transformer 2 or 3 will work/is working. Customer Rating: Summary: Works fine but the hum is too loud for me. Comment: I don't know if I received a defective unit or not but this unit makes what I would consider a pretty loud humming noise when on. I ended up returning it for this reason.
