Comment: I tried this thing out for a week and decided it just wasn't for me. I know when you're in pain you're willing to try anything, but I'd suggest trying something else. It may work for some but it definitely won't work for all.

Summary: Does what it says but item shipped was not new
Comment: I am a 35 year old female, and have been practicing sports for most of my life. However, I have a chronic upper back pain that is due to the incorrect curvature of my neck (as a chiropractor said), and a bike accident three years ago might have contributed to it. I tried many things including buying a new bed but the pain is still there. It is worst in the mornings, and seems to alleviate with exercise and hot showers. Until now I was using two tennis balls to stretch my spine,by laying face up and rolling them back and forth along the sides of the spine. This does a pretty good job, except it is uncomfortable and you cannot lay down in this position for too long. I tried a chiropractor a couple of years ago, which was great, but could not afford it on a regular basis. The good thing about going to the chiropractor is that I learned that a realignment of the vertebrae can have a good effect instantaneously and it can even chase away migraines. More than one time I walked in her office tired and numb from pain and left 15 min later with lots of energy, a clear mind and no pain at all.
I've ordered the spineworx device because I've been looking for an alternative to going for a chiropractor for a number of years now. I've seen it gets all these good reviews , and I can say it is true. It does the job, and it does it well.I remember I used to feel dizzy after the chiropractor treatment - the good kind of dizziness - and tingling in the spine and it is the first time after the chiropractor that I had the same sensation when I got up from this device. It stretches and separates the vertebrae and releases the pressure they exert on the nerves. It does the headache trick too, try laying down on it when you have the next headache.
I just used it once so I cannot say anything about long term effects.
Cons: it is hard to relax on it, but I can't imagine any alignment device that would be comfortable. Being in a warm room and with a blanket underneath would help, I guess.
It doesn't come with any instructions, and although it may sound silly (just lay down on it !) I would really like to know how to position my lower back on it, since I am a short person (5"1) and I can't imagine how myself and a 6"2 person can use the device in the same way.
I wish it had some attachment for the neck so that the neck and spine get aligned together. I ordered a dogbone pillow too and I'm planning to sleep with it, but the alignment action will not be simultaneous for neck and spine.
And last but not least, I wish they had sent me a new item, since it is advertised as new. This one has obviously been used because the surface is buffed and scratched in a few places. It doesn't look like it has sagged or anything, but paying for a new item and receiving a used one doesn't feel good.
Overall, I am very happy with the concept (if not the actual item) and I am very confident I can get rid of my back pain now.

Summary: eases the back tension
Comment: I spend 9-14 hour days in front of the computer at work, and my back gets very stiff, all the way from the lower back up to the neck. I use this device for 5 mins after work, and would hear a gentle crack or two almost every time. I am 5'2", and the length of it is just right for me. My husband is 5'9", and wishes it'd be slightly longer, however he is still quite pleased with the results.
Although it is not recommended to move while lying on the device, after lying still and completely relaxed on it for a couple of minutes, I do gently shift my weight from one side to another, bend legs in the knees / raise torso, and slide up/down to get more pressure on desired areas. Now, I do not have any major back problems, so I do not have any issues aligning my spine and overall do not feel any discomfort.

Comment: When I took it out of the box, I thought I'd been duped. But after using it just three times, it gave me back relief. My back would hurt when I was on my back in bed, and cause my arms and legs to go numb.
If you are older, I'd suggest you put it near something to use to get up off the floor! I put it in front of my sofa.
I don't lie still on it. If I feel a tight spot, I adjust my weight to that spot, by moving my legs or arms or by moving my spine up or down the device.

Summary: Goodbye to my chiropractor
Comment: Best money I've spent on back care! I'm seeing my 3rd chiropractor in 10 years. I've been going to my current chiro for almost 10 sessions. I got some relief but paying $50 per session. I saw this in the Skymall catalog during a plane trip and finally decided to get one after reading other's reviews. I'm glad I did!
The first time I tried Spineworx, my upper back made 3-4 tiny pops and my discomfort went away almost IMMEDIATELY!!! Within 10 seconds, it realigned what my chiropractor couldn't in 10 expensive sessions!
There was some initial discomfort in the lower back only because I've lost the natural curvature due to a desk job and Spineworx is helping me regain that curve. On the 3rd day, it feels a lot better. But the nagging tightness in my upper back is TOTALLY gone and I feel 1000000% better; more energy, more strength, sleeping better. It almost makes me want to cry thinking about the pain I endured all these years and that now, it's gone!
It's cheaper than one chiro session and if you don't like it, I'm sure another family member will. It's totally worth the price. Made in the U.S.A. too.
