I'm sure it's slower that the XL models but it's really not as slow as some other reviewers state, it's actually faster than using a razor and shaving cream. Never had any problems with it, I only have to charge it about once a week and it gives a comfortable and close shave with no irritation. I've had this one for about 2 years and have nothing bad to say about it. My next razor is probably going to be one of those newer ones with more shaving surface, but I have absolutely no problem using this one until the day it dies. It's been slightly over 2 years now and it still works perfectly, even the battery.
