Customer Rating: Summary: Good for the price! Comment: It was a little tricky to install, but once done, it proved to be a nice keyboard. Since it uses USB 2.0, its even more responsive than regular midi cables. Works flawlessly with Cakewalk Sonar.
Make sure your XP or Vista Pc has the usb audio update from Microsoft.
Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap-O Midi Controller Comment: You get what you pay for. The M-Audio Keyrig feels as cheap as a Casio keyboard. The pitch bend and mod wheel are kind of nice, sturdy rubber, but the keys are light and feel like they could break under your fingers if you really whaled on them. There are no other controls on it other than a volume control. If you want a control surface with some knobs and sliders you may want to look at this model's big brother. I used to have an old version of the Oxygen 8. That controller was pretty solid, yet still inexpensive. You get what you pay for.
Customer Rating: Summary: Sad Results Comment: I bought this for college in the end of the summer and it worked great. Now it's October, and it won't play any notes for me for my Aural Theory Homework. This isn't what I expected when you pay close to 100 dollars.
Customer Rating: Summary: Some glitches Comment: I bought this keyboard from Best Buy.
It is not a very good keyboard.
It has the following problems:
When you are in the normal Octave (both octave lights on the left are on which is the default), when you go into G4 and above which are on the right, the keyboard produces a very muted sound. It is a drastic transition from F4 to G4 keys. It sounds OK when you set the keyboard to a lower octave.
Also, in the normal octave mode, chords A minor and C sound the same. This is because when you hit the A minor chord the A note is hardly heard.
Now I am looking at options. May be it is the particular piece that I got.
Customer Rating: Summary: 49 Keys and imagination. Comment: Very versatile when hooked up to Reason4. Had to reload the drivers a couple of times, but seems to be stable. Would buy again. Have fun and be creative. My 3 year old has tons of fun with it, yet I could see how an aspiring producer could use this with the appropriate software. This keyboard is only limited by the software you choose to utilize.
