Customer Rating: Summary: Cools but extraordinarily loud. Does not work well in rain. Comment: This air conditioner is used for a dorm unit of about 150 sq ft. Despite that the unit cools the room quickly and well, it is extremely noisy. The front plastic cage will rattle perpetually. When raining, the unit's fan will sound sluggish, wet, and will cause the unit to be noisier. Though cheap, I would not recommend this unit for a dorm. Customer Rating: Summary: Mostly great Comment: This air conditioner is great for small rooms. I hate that it doesn't have a remote control but its a small matter. The only thing that annoys me is the vent that is located on the top of the air conditioner outside. rain just pours right in and does leave, but if you turn on the air conditioner after it's been off during a rainstorm or shortly after, you get this.... watery.... trickily noise. It's rather loud. Once again, small matter. just turn the fan on before it starts raining alot and it's no problem. I think it has to do with water getting in and sitting there but if the fan is running it doesn't have a chance to sit. Good AC for the price. Just make sure you have some extra wood and old clothes to fit in the window because the unit is obviously small. Customer Rating: Summary: Buyer beware Comment: Although this product will function as advertised, be aware that when the compressor kicks in, it is REALLY noisy. Not just a simple buzzing, but rather a low, loud, hum that will actually travel through the walls to other rooms in the house. Customer Rating: Summary: A cold blast from a mini-conditioner Comment: Had new windows installed, worked and looked great, but the openings were smaller than expected. Wanted a window air conditioner for the living room. Found one at Amazon that would fit, and the reviews were good. I wasn't prepared for how well it worked, however. This little guy pumps out an amazing amount of cold air. I think the secret is, it is an older unit that was made before the energy conserving engineers got a hold of it. Maybe I should feel bad that I am not helping the environment as much as I could, but keeping me cool during a hot and humid August, somehow made the guilt go away. If you want the most bang for your buck, buy this unit. If it can keep my living room cool, it will turn a small bedroom into a meat locker, no sweat.
