Always opens the bottles neatly, no cork mess and the refills last a long time. CO2 so when you put the needle in the middle of the cork and push on the popper the cork slides right out. I find them the easiest way to open wine bottles. We average six bottles of wine a week so we really get good usuage. These work just as well on the newer synthetic corks as well as on the older real cork styles. With this system we never cork a bottle even on some of the older bottles (25-30 yrs).
