Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. They are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses. These countersunk ring magnets are 0.500 inch (12.7mm) outside diameter, 0.150 inch (3.8mm) inside diameter and 0.125 inch (3.2mm) thick. They are magnetized through the thickness. They are composed of grade 40 neodymium iron boron magnetic material and are plated in nickel-copper-nickel for a shiny corrosion resistant finish. Their individual pull force is approximately 3 lbs. Maximum working temperature is 176 F (80 C). Magnets may chip and crack if allowed to snap together.

Customer Rating: Summary: Strong magnets Comment: I needed something to hold my bedroom doors in the open position. Magnetic door stops were (in my opinion) too expensive. I purchased these and attached them to the bottom edge of the doors and removed the rubber stopper from the spring type door stops. These were plenty strong enough to hold the doors open. These eliminated the need for those pesky wedge type door stops.
Customer Rating: Summary: small, strong magnets Comment: Couldn't find a better deal on ring magnets anywhere, what i needed was a magnet with a countersunk hole, for fireplace screen "latch", and you can't drill or machine magnets. No such configuration available at hardware stores. Not positive how they'll hold up to heat, but i haven't heard from customer so i hope they haven't failed. They're brittle, so brittle that if you tighten the screw too much they'll snap. That's not a negative, it's just a warning that that's how magnets are. I've since bought discs as well, to epoxy onto metal hooks and to use on metal art bottle openers i make. very strong, very well packed.
Keep away from little kids, strong enough to pinch, and dangerous to swallow more than one!
Customer Rating: Summary: Exceedingly strong! Comment: These magnets are really, really strong. They are also quite small and hard to separate from each other.
Customer Rating: Summary: Magnets. Comment: Got these for the kids to play with. They have had a lot of fun with them.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent product Comment: Is an excellent product if you want to know the temperature of metal and plastics while they are in the process of heating and thermoforming.
