Editorial Reviews: This lamp is a terrific accessory for the craftsman, hobbyist, mechanic and jeweler. It puts shadow-free lighting around a 3½" diameter, 5 power lens to let you see small parts and fine details, and is excellent for precision work. With a compact base measuring only 7½" x 6", it takes up very little room on your workbench. The goose neck lets you put the light and the magnification where you need it. Other features include a heavy metal base for stability and a flip-down cover to keep the magnifier free of dust.

Comment: I purchased this lamp because I just started coin collecting but I think for something like this a higher magnification is needed. I struggle to see the minute details on the coins. For extremely tiny details this lamp would not be the one you need. I don't know if it is because at my age I have problems seeing both near & far or it is the magnification itself. I didn't want to spend what I consider a hefty amount for just a magnifying glass but I may have to. I am also trying to figure a way to weigh down the base. I am going to see if I can put sand or pebbles in the base or even rice may do, which ever is heavier. Customer Rating: Summary: Love it! Comment: For the price, you can't beat this lamp. They told me to scrap the defective one and immediately sent out a 2nd lamp which is working great. That's what I call good old fashioned customer service.
