Aids in the relief of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Tennis Elbow pain without cutting off circulation. Uses selective pressure to turn the natural action of the forearm into a pump. Unlike other bands which create a tourniquet effect and can cause uncomfortable tissue swelling. BandIT allows normal circulation (blood flow). Customer Rating: Summary: BandIT Works Well Comment: I developed tennis elbow from, of all things, excessive, uninterrupted mouse utilization while doing Internet research. Based on Internet reviews and healthcare sites, the forearm band seemed to be a simple fix. Indeed, it was. The BandIT's outer, rigid plastic shell supports a soft rubber pad that is placed over the offending muscle/ligament group. By doing so, the band absorbs most of the muscle energy that would otherwise be transferred to the ligament and its point of insertion on the humerus' lateral epicondyle. Regardless of the many, varied recommendations as to placement (some measured from the elbow, some from the crook of the arm/forearm), I experimented until I found that point at which I felt the most pressure on the muscle from the band when I made a fist (for me about 3-1/2 inches from the tip of the elbow). Unlike elastic bands or straps that completely encircle the forearm, the BandIT's Velcro retention strap does not interfere with circulation. Finally, the rubber pads do not absorb sweat so the odor noted in some reviews with other products was not an issue.
Customer Rating: Summary: Immediate relief from tendinitis Comment: The Band-It Elbow Support provided significant relief from tendinitis pain as soon as I put it on. Worn snugly it helps with persistent pain, cinched more tightly it makes painful movements much less so. When tightly cinched it does somewhat inhibit flexing of the forearm muscles. In that case I just loosen it a bit: it then provides less pain-relieving support but allows great flexion, so it's a compromise, but much better than nothing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not a helpful product Comment: I was trying to find a replacement for the strap my doctor gave me for Tennis Elbow which has inserts to press against the tendon and works very well. However the "Band-It" product does not help my tennis elbow at all, I believe because it does not have the insert.
Customer Rating: Summary: I'm Golfing Again with the Band-It Elbow Support Comment: I golf four to five times a week, but had to stop completely because of left elbow and forearm pain. I had tried the conventional elbow braces with the gel pad, but my condition got progressively worse. After I received the Band-It support, I noticed an improvement in a couple days. I wore the brace all day long. After about a week, I was able to make some moderate golf swings.
Although I'm not completely healed after three weeks of using the Band-It support, I am able to resume my normal golf schedule with some swing modifications. For example, I am careful not to take huge divots because I'm sure that would aggravate my arm. I do tighten the support more when I'm golfing than for general wear. At this point, I feel confident that continued use of the Band-It support will help to prevent a similar injury in the future.
I would certainly recommend this product for anyone with elbow and/or forearm pain caused by repetitive stress type of activity. It does seem to be working for me.
Customer Rating: Summary: It Actually Works Comment: A little background...I played tennis in college and during the end of my senior season experienced some severe tennis elbow. I attributed it to the fact that I was very hard on my arm with exaggerated strokes over several years so after college I took 4-5 years off. I assumed that would be long enough for my arm to heal.
I started playing tennis again a year ago and the tennis elbow came back, just as bad as it had been before. I literally could not even pick up my water bottle after matches. I was extremely frustrated and was worried that surgery was my only option.
My dad ran across this brace and purchased for me in hopes of solving my problem. I will be honest...I was kind of skeptical. I have tried lots of other braces in the past and they really haven't done much for me. The first match I tried the band-it I did experience moderate pain. The second time, however, the pain was lessened. After the third time hitting with it, the pain start to disappear! I can now play through a whole match with very little to no pain and NO SORE ARM in the morning.
The band-it is an incredible product and a great solution for anyone who is experiencing chronic tennis elbow pain. Give it a try but make sure you use it 4-5 times in order to really evaluate it. I am hopeful that eventually I will not have to use it at all!
