Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent virtualization software Comment: I'm a Systems Administrator and I live by virtualization. Mostly for trying out new software, operating systems, etc. I recently bought a Macbook Pro because of being tired/bored of Windows and was looking for emulation software for the Mac. I was looking at both Fusion and Parallels but found Fusion to be much better than Parallels. The Unity feature is absolutely excellent, but what made me decide was support for 64-bit guests as some of my new Virtual Machines are 64bit only (Microsoft SBS2008 and Exchange 2007). The Direct 3D 9 support is a welcome addition in my case since I love some old games like Starcraft and it just won't run on the newest Leopard build on a Macbook Pro (since it lacks 256 color mode).
All in all, better performance than Parallels, 64bit support for guest operating systems make this, to me, the better product.
Customer Rating: Summary: Life saver! Comment: I bought a new mac and found out a few weeks later that we needed windows for school. I was going to buy windows and put it on bootcamp, until someone told me about fusion. It works great - I've been using it for a month now and have had NO problems with either my mac or the windows virtual machine. Also it was very easy to install. I am basically a computer dummy and it was easy for me to install and work. Another plus is that it saved me from also having to buy office for my windows side. Since I can see both mac and windows at the same time using fusion I can take notes on word/look at a powerpoint on the mac side while I'm doing school stuff on the PC side. I recommend it highly to anyone who is in my same position needing PC for school or work!
Customer Rating: Summary: Beta 2.0b2 Comment: The VMware Fusion latest beta version is working real well on my OS Leopard MacPro. The 1.1.3 version did not meet my needs as I could not get the program that I needed to get to run, and created a error on the program I was trying to run (WinAPRS). I re-download the beta and it is working fine for me now. The WX data is getting to this program fine too. I am using Keyspan 4 port serial and I wish I could have Mac control of one or two of these port on the Mac side and the other two on the Windows XPpro side. I am sure that is asking allot.
I guess the other option is to get another serial port adapter, but my 4 port USB is filled up too. I am using the front port for my (old) DC2080 Panasonic digital camera USB to serial adapter(CablesToGo) and maybe add the exta adapter there, for the Mac side to use. My old Electronic Workbench software is working well here also. Anyway, I look to your finished product version of 2.0 and thanks for the hard work, that I a sure it is. //.. Joe Redd WA8SIE
Customer Rating: Summary: VMware Fusion Comment: This software is very good. I was pleasantly surprised as to how quickly it installed and the short leaning curve for using it. It runs all my windows applications very smoothly.I would recommend this product for anyone who needs both OS's on their system.
Customer Rating: Summary: great product Comment: Easy to install and configure. Stable performance. The best choice if you want to run Windows apps on a Mac.
