Summary: Thermofocus themometer
Comment: I have the original model and this one. I am a school nurse and am using both of these in my office and just love the ease and quick accurate readings I get using them. The instructions say to use it on the forhead and that the forehead needs to be dry or it will reflect the laser light. In darkness you just hold down the laser light button until it is one circle on the forehead (dry) and let go and get the temp. Use the memory button to get your reading once you are in a lit room. It reads low when kids have not eaten breakfast or have drank something cold. It can be used on the jugular artery in the neck area also. I have a backup B&D digital mouth thermometer to get a second reading if I have any questions. This might be needed once or twice a day max. Love this as there is no spit to be touching and my severe disable kids are not bothered with it. I have used this for 6 hours a day for the last 10 months and all I had to do was change the battery. Love love love this product. KMRN

Summary: A must have for parents.
Comment: I highly reccomend the thermofocus. It is the only one on the market that takes an accurate tempature without even touching your child. This is vital if your kid is sick, you know how important it is that you don't wake your little darling up! This product is extremely accurate, I tested vs. the traditional ones many times, always right on the money. Best new baby product I can remember!!!

Summary: BEST THermometer out there!!!
Comment: We have had this thermometer for over 1 year and it was the best money we spent. I even took it to the doctors with us to see how it would compare the their high tech equipment and it was right on. You can take a child temp while they are sleeping. I don't know how people can have completely different experiences with the same product. I'd just say have the company send you a new one! We got rid of all our other, ear, armpit, rectal thermometers.

Summary: practical
Comment: I've been using this for a couple of months now, and I find it easy to use.
The memory functions and the ability to measure any object's temperature are quite useful.
I almost always got the impression of a correct reading, except for a couple of times when I found the reading in the center of the forehead to be strangely different from the readings on the sides.
As far as I tried to find it, it lacks display lighting... however also the other models I tried had the same problem... I'd like to know why, given that it's going to be often used in a dark bedroom where the kid is sleeping.

Summary: Worthless for anything but room temp
Comment: I bought this hoping it would be useful for taking human temp but it is completely worthless. Measures 95.5 when the person has a 101 temp. 94.8 when temp is normal. Tried on several individuals, switched batteries, calibrated, etc.
Only accurate temp is room temp measures 69.4 in a room where the thermostat reads 69 and a standard thermometer reads 70.
Do not waste your money.
