Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Has Aftertaste Comment: Having read the favorable reviews for this product, I ordered some, only to find that it did have an aftertaste similar to that of saccharin. As my testing was not scientific, I can't say whether this would occur for all uses or even with all tasters. I found it acceptable, because I am dieting, but be warned that not all family members may be pleased with its taste. I should add that, while I have found little difference between the taste of other sweeteners such as aspartame and Truvia and sugar in coffee, I have detected an aftertaste when using them to sweeten other foods, so perhaps I am more sensitive than most. Customer Rating: Summary: Felt a little dizzy and had an after taste! Comment: This is the first ever Stevia product I tried. I felt a little dizzy the 1st day I tried Stevia in my morning coffee. When I googled this condition, i found something to the effect of - People with diabetes or borderline diabetes have felt dizzy with Stevia consumption. Guess, I have to get a diabetes screening. Also, about the after taste - there is an after taste but it is sweet, not weird like other sweeteners. But, there still is some unnatural feel to it. Wonder how a powder from a leaf is pure white and not green! Customer Rating: Summary: Impressed Comment: This Kal brand Stevia is wonderful. Unlike my attempts in the past to use Stevia (or any other sweetener for that matter), I am not forcing myself to used this product. I tried NOW drops last year and gave them up because of the aftertaste. So far have tried Kal Stevia in coffee, homemade lemonade, fresh chopped strawberries, and homemade hot cocoa and I am blown away. My picky husband has even taste tested everything and given his thumbs up. And we hate ALL artificial sweeteners! I laughed when I saw how small the scoop was, but it is actually just the right amount for a 12 oz coffee and WAY too much for a cup of sliced strawberries. The powder dissolves effortlessly in hot liquids, and just fine in cold liquids if you sprinkle it in slowly while stirring. I feel like I have much more control with this product than with the drops and I love that there are no additives. I plan on figuring out how to bake with this stuff next![...] Customer Rating: Summary: great sweetener Comment: This is the first stevia product I have purchased. I only notice a bitter taste if I taste the stevia alone--like licking it off of my finger. It works best in liquids because it's so potent that if you try to put it on a food, the small amount is difficult to spread around and the amount needed to cover the entire item would oversweeten the food. Customer Rating: Summary: Best Tasting Stevia Comment: Because I developed an allergic reaction to processed and artificial sugar, I've been using Stevia for more than 3 years now, and have purchased numerous Stevia information and recipe books during that time. I'd read that KAL was the best tasting brand, but KAL wasn't sold locally, so I had only used NOW powder or Sweet Leaf packets, which can make home-made desserts bitter, if not combined with fruit or if not used in precise measurements. When my local NOW source couldn't deliver for 2 months, I checked on-line for a quicker source and discovered KAL brand available and decided to try it. I am so glad I did. The taste is never bitter. As an experienced Stevia user, I highly recommend KAL as the best tasting stevia available.
