Customer Rating: Summary: Great Product Comment: Very easy to understand what is going on. Great features. Easy to navigate. Not a system hog.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good, but made computer slower. Comment: The product works well to scan my computer. I have noticed though that the computer seems to run a little slower with XP and 360 together.
Customer Rating: Summary: Norton Comment: This product is great. I suggest this product to anyone with a computer. It is worth the price.
Customer Rating: Summary: What matters is the renewal pricing. 09 renewal pricing was increased to $69.99 from $59.99 Comment: Symantec announced that they will raise the renewal pricing for the single license (one PC) from $59.99 to $69.99 from next year. Norton will become the most expensive security software next year if most of others keep the current $59.99/year renewal pricing. One Care (MS) is the cheapest per users (They allow three PCs per one subscription of $49.95). If you have three PCs at home, total annual renewal cost alone will be close to $210...
Good news for their profit but not a good news for the existing users.
Customer Rating: Summary: In my book--best product out there for full security-suite--BUT SPYWARE piece like all full suites STINKS Comment: I have usually had Norton pre-installed as 3 month trial on every laptop I bought and just went for it.
However, last laptop I had used McCafee, and had loads of problems.
So on my latest PC, I did a full evaluation of most top products: Kaspersky, Bit Defender, etc. Conclusions are Norton is still best in my book BUT you need another ADWARE or anti-spy product. I use Super Anti-Spy..for free.
Problem with kaspersky and other (possibly better products) are they do too thorough a flag of items..and I acnnot even figure out clearly results of a scan! You need to have been in Aerospace program at NASA!
And I am a very techgnical person, but have no tiume to spend 3 hours looking ata scan!
And ALL of full interne t suites MISSSED all low-risk spyware that MY FREE COPY ($20 for fuller function with scheduling and live auto update)caught. Definitely real spyware.
Shortcomings of Norton 360:
1) very confusing to diffeentiate between having NORTON run scans automatically when it chosses versus auto-scheduling for certain days, week or month.
2) Very hard to discern easily which scans were run
3) Firewalkl works superbly
4) Fast scan--in automated..I don't trust having it control when it runs
5) Live update, unlike mcCafee is coupled with running scan/...so u cannot (like Windows) have it do real-time updates 24X7
Overall, compared to other products for ful service package--for $40 this is awesome buy. McCafee had better user interface screens..but it kept on turning off--and found out it was some bug ..that tey had no solution for. Then it just stopoped working totally!
BTW, I have a duo-core Extreme CPU on Windows 64bit VISTA.
The few shortcomings on
