Summary: Worth the extra cost........Much better than those sold by others....
Comment: I own 7 augers that I purchased from Custom Auger, including a few of their high end industrial models.
There is abig diference in theirs compared with the less expensive others sold on Amazon and hardware stores.
The difference is the cutting edge. It is made of much heavier steel.
Their service is beyond excellent. They ship on the same or next business day by Priority Mail. I usually get them in two or three days. You can't beat Tom and Becky. They are a family husband and wife business.
If you want the auger to last, buy from Custom Auger. If you want it for two or three holes, the cheap ones "MIGHT" do.
