I agree with the other reviewers on the switch location, but on my desk, it works. It is a very bright light, so don't buy if you want something that could bounce off a computer screen. Comment: I have had the lamp for a week and am returning it because the following information was not in the description: the on/off switch is not located anywhere on the lamp itself, but is instead on the cord. I thought it was automatic that a lamp like this would have an on/off switch on the top of the lamp, or someplace on the base. If it's on the cord, it just is really hard to turn on and off because it requires reaching behind my desk. Customer Rating: Summary: Great for the price Comment: Plastic base, metal lamp. Easily adjustable, and holds a lot of my office supplies. Surprisingly bright for such a little lamp! I use it for reading and knitting, which it's perfect for. Just FYI: Mine arrived slightly scuffed. I'm not sure how. It's on the back of the lamp, though, so I don't see it most of the time. I took off one star because the light switch is about one foot down the electrical cord, which means if you put the lamp at the edge of your desk the switch is dangling off the side.
