Customer Rating: Summary: Cordless nailer Comment: Cordless feature is very convenient; 18-volt model can drive 2" nails into softwoods easily. Model that is included with the kit has only one depth stop (as indicated on Black and Decker website although individual model on that site shows 2 depth stops). Although there is a slight time lag between triggering and firing, it becomes less annoying with frequent use. Batteries are interchangeable with other Black and Decker 18-volt products. The slide-in batteries are more secure against vibration than other products with a stem-type plug-in battery.
Customer Rating: Summary: So far so good Comment: I was really looking for a cordless nailer that can help me get some house jobs done. I stumbled upon this firestorm nailer from B&D at Amazon. With the reviews it was getting, I was kinda leary to buy the product but finally I decided to get one and was amazed how fast they shipped it. I got it the following day I ordered it! Next day delivery and free! Can't beat that! So to speak, I tried it and works great for my home projects, so far. I love it and makes my work easier. Too bad that not all got pleased with it according to their expectation.
Customer Rating: Summary: B&D Cordless 18v Nailer Comment: Wonderful tool for small detail work. I used it on the detail work when I remodeled my kitchen. It performed like a champ. Amazon shipped it the same day as my order and had it in two days. It comes with every thing you need to get started. Carrying case, sample brads, charger, and a list of compatible brads from other companies. A great tool for a great price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Poor Craftmanship Comment: I like to consider myself some what of an expert on B&D Firestorm products. I own just about all the tools from the line and am fairly happy with the performance and price of them. I've written quite a few reviews, most positive. However, this is the worst Firestorm purchase I've ever made. Straight out of the box I loaded the unit with the manufacture recommended brad nails. It fired fine on the first shot then jammed. I cleared the jam, then fired again. It jammed again, I tried a third time, then forth and so on. It continued to jam every time. I took the unit back to Lowe's and got another one...same thing happened with the second nail gun. Even the experts at Lowe's couldn't get this to fire a second nail. They tried for half an hour defferint things but no luck. This is why I know it wasn't just me. I was very surprised to see B&D come out with a product that simply did not work. At the time I paid $200 for this, I'm sure by now the price has come down drastically. Even so, it's not worth more than $20. I'm sorry to say but you are definitly better off with another brand.
Customer Rating: Summary: Mixed Results With B&D Battery Powered Tools Comment: This may or may not be a good deal but I would be wary of B&D power tools because I've had mixed results with their products. I recently bought 3 sets of cordless shears from them and the NiCd batteries failed on one of them in less than a month of casual use. Experience tells me that a 3 star rating is about right for a tool like this one. Also, the specs don't say what they mean by a 'full range of 18-guage nails'??? By the way, my qualifications for reviewing this product are: I am a General Contractor, Woodworker/Cabinet Maker and a Sculptor. I was the lead builder of the Burningman Icon for 14 years until I retired as the Senior Builder of the Man in 2003.
