Customer Rating: Summary: 3G ACHIEVED - Read On! Comment: We live in a remote part of central NJ and only get 3G coverage from AT&T in our home...which is naturally frustrating because AT&T has a pretty bad network as of late. That being said, Verizon and T-Mobile do not come in at 3G but regular slower network speeds, EDGE to be specific. I am in IT and have access to different devices which include a Google Nexus One on T-Mobile and a Verizon Mi-Fi. Naturally I would want both of these to work at 3G speeds so I can take advantage of their features. When the Wilson was offered to me I immediately grabbed it and installed it the day it arrived... The whole process took about 1.5 hours because we had to mount one part outside and run the cable into the house to the internal part. Here are the results:
AT&T - Full Bars on iPhone's and other AT&T Devices.
T-Mobile - Full Bars and now on 3G on the Nexus One.
Verizon - Better EVDO coverage (EVDO is eqiv to 3g) with faster speeds on the Mi-Fi router.
Yes the device is quite expensive, but it works as it should and thus I have no fear in giving it 5 stars. Try one out if you have signal problems at home or in your office and you may be pleasantly surprised at what this can do for you. My phones now even work in my basement without a problem...which was erratic in the past.... I will be doing follow up reviews on this in the future with speed tests and all if you are interested.....visit again.
Until then please use comments to ask any and all questions and I will answer them as best as I can.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works Great for Me, Thumbs Up Comment: I have an iPhone with AT&T's service. You got no choice if you want an iPhone and that's sad, sad, sad, because I was getting dropped calls left and right. Not on the roads here, they've got US 80 and 395 covered well. They've got most of Reno covered well, but it seems they've excluded my house. We're close to the University and everybody their gets good reception, me, sometimes I have to go out in the snow to talk on my iPhone. Not acceptable, but as I said above, I don't have the luxury of shifting to another carrier, not unless I want to change phones.
Enter Wilson's Cellular Signal Booster. No more going out in cold to talk to someone in a warmer clime. No more dropped calls, well, not as many. This is a product without bells or whistles. It's a one trick pony, but it does it's trick really well. If you're not happy with AT&T in your home, this is the answer. Thumbs down for them, thumbs way way up for Wilson's Cellular Booster.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Product Comment: This product is great! It works every bit as well as I hoped it would. We live in an area with very poor cell service. Lots of dropped/missed calls and if we wanted to place a call, it meant a trip to the front porch. The product is well thought out to include the instructions and the packaging. The various mounting kits are packaged and labeled separately for easy identification. Enough mounting options are given for plenty of flexibility. I mounted the antenna outside under the eaves of the house pointed toward the nearest known cell tower. (There are websites that map cell tower location based on zip code...) We went from having calls missed or dropped, to having reliable signal strength inside the house. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!
Customer Rating: Summary: The Wilson Signal Booster for Home or Office Comment: I live in a remote area where cell phone service is hit and miss at best. I have had to rely on my landline for phone service. My job requires me to be on-call via cell phone on a bi-weekly basis. I was constantly missing calls do to the lack of cell phone service. The Wilson Desktop Cell Phone Booster was recommended to me by a friend. I was very pleased with the ease of installation and I have had full bars of service since the day I installed it. I would definatly recommend this product.
Customer Rating: Summary: No dropped call any more.... Comment: It works perfectly and really keeps signal stablized. Now I can answer every call and no more worry about dropped calls. I gave it 4 stars because I think the antenna box could be made smaller but overall it is really good and easy to use!!!
