iWork ’09, Apple’s office productivity suite, is the easiest way to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations the Mac way. Pages is both a streamlined word processor and an easy-to-use page layout application. It allows you to be a writer one minute and a designer the next, always with a perfect document in the works. Numbers, with its' great-looking templates, easy-to-create formulas, and dynamic tables and charts, gives you simple ways to make sense of your data. Use Keynote to create your presentations, and you’ll be a hard act to follow. Its' powerful yet easy-to-use tools and dazzling effects put the show in slideshow. Packed with over 250 Apple-designed themes and templates—including 60 new designs overall—iWork lets you create projects that look polished from the first page or slide. And iWork is compatible with Microsoft Office, so it’s easy to share your work.

Customer Rating: Summary: A great cheap alternative to Microsoft Office Equivalant Comment: We have a Mac environment for our company art department. One Mac has had Office 2004 on it for quite some time, but mine has had nothing but text edit. I used Google Docs for the longest time but it was getting annoying when dealing with Powerpoint files. I bought iWork and it has not disappointed. Although it only has the equivalents for Powerpoint, Word and Excel it is enough for me. My favorite feature is the ability to save the file as a Microsoft file for any PC users you send it to so there is no issue with compatibility. For 70 some dollars you really can't beat it. My only draw back would be if you like using entourage in Microsoft office then there is no equivalent in this package. Good buy (and you can do a try before you buy thing on Apple's site).
Customer Rating: Summary: Still Missing an important feature for advanced excel users Comment: I will be short, mainly because others have already efficiently pointed the many positive aspects of the product as a whole.
As someone who uses excel a lot and who uses excel VBA (macros capabilities) the fact that Numbers does not support macros is a big flaw, one that makes me still uses Excel. I cannot even use it Excel for mac, because microsoft disabled Macros in Office for Mac. In short, if you need Macros in your spreadsheets there is only one way: To run windows in you mac and run office in it. There is simply no other way.
I guess Apple still thinks most of their customers don't really care for such feature, but I am one very tired Microsoft user who would immediately delete excel from my computer and NEVER again use Microsoft software...but I am still "locked" with them...And like myself I know quite a few others who wish numbers could serve as a platform for macros development.
If you don't use macros, Numbers will be just great for you, meaning this review is really focused for excel users who uses VBA - Macros AND want to move away from excel.
Other than that Numbers is a great software, but could not get MY five stars.
I hope Apple changes that very soon...
Customer Rating: Summary: Good... Comment: iWork is great for most things, and I find that it also carries Apple's rule of user-friendliness over function perfectly. However, with that rule comes the price you pay for not having the entire functionality that you might want. For instance, in neither Pages nor Numbers can you create a graph with a consistent X-axis. It only treats each data point as its own separate thing. In other words, if you input info for years 1956, 1987, and 1989, it will space them apart equally. So, I recommend this product for the average mac user, but not if you want to be using high-end software that can do anything and everything that you want it to.
Customer Rating: Summary: it works great for me! Comment: I find this software to be absolutely great for the work I do. I create newsletters. It is so easy to use and works so well for me! I can't imagine using any other software.
Customer Rating: Summary: Helps me to interface with Word! Comment: so far I like this product.... still trying to change the page borders, but I will figure it out eventually. Easier to use to send copy to those PC people than InDesign was...:-)
